Start Potentialising

My passion is to make known something that otherwise may not be known. I have found that the majority of people do not know that the way they are communicating with each is either an enabler of people using their capability and potential or an inhibitor.

Sadly most people have a predominant communication style of telling, fixing and advising, which means they are inadvertently inhibiting and disempowering people. They falsely believe that that they are being helpful, but never stop to think that there way of being 'helpful' often is NOT helping. Indeed, this style of communication creates people to stop thinking for themselves and using their initiative, be less confident and able to make decisions and ultimately more reliant and dependent upon others. I invite you to look at the issues apparent in workplaces, families and in society generally and acknowledge that at the heart of these issues is the way that we are communicating with each other.

So what am I asking you to do differently? I am asking you to be more conscious of your communication and to start asking Better Questions. I have created a word that represents the person that does this and I call them Potentialisers. Whilst the word is not yet in the dictionary, I intend to make it mainstream by educating as many people as possible that their communication is key to enabling people to be more confident, capable, resilient, motivated, engaged and self-reliant.

My definition of a Potentialiser is "A releaser of Amazingness in others" Imagine our workplaces, our health and aged care systems, our education system, indeed our society where everyone subscribed to being a Potentialiser. By changing the way you are communicating you can make our world to be a better place and enable people to shine and be amazing!
