New 10-Year Industrial Strategy: how will it impact business energy costs?
The UK government has unveiled a comprehensive 10-year industrial strategy that’s designed to foster innovation, drive sustainable growth, and enhance the competitiveness of UK businesses on the global stage. This includes a new British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme from 2027 to 2030 which will reduce electricity costs by c.£35-40/MWh for thousands of businesses.
Day in the life of a CHP O&M engineer
Join Sam Bibby, an O&M Engineer at Centrica Business Solutions, on a typical day maintaining CHP assets. In the video, Sam walks you through why ongoing maintenance is critical to maintaining the longevity of a CHP; how CO2 can be captured in the generation process and used to stimulate plant growth within the horticulture sector; and why health and safety is so critical within Operations and Maintenance.
How can NHS Trusts navigate the withdrawal of PSDS funding?
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) have taken the difficult decision to discontinue further investment in the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS). Existing grants will continue until 2028, but no further funding will be allocated. Discover what funding options NHS Trusts have now.
Delivering 19 new CHPs for major hotel chain
After initially discussing just 1 hotel, Centrica Business Solutions were asked to deliver new CHPs at 10 hotels and a full turnkey solution was developed for this hotel chain. The CHPs ranged from 125kW to 230kW in size, installed in a range of different locations in the hotels – from underground car parks; to rooftop plant rooms.
Why data is the secret weapon against energy market volatility
When market conditions are volatile a rigorous approach to data is more important than ever. Long-term uncertainty is difficult to plan for, which makes sustainability strategies even harder to sell into the wider business. But with a data-driven approach, businesses have something tangible to build on. Discover how your organisation performs on everything from Artificial Intelligence (AI) to cost control.
