TLS Continuum Management Tip #25: Some other eyes will look around, and find things I've never found (Malvina Reynolds)

The journey along the TLS Continuum is a deliberate journey. It is journey that requires a steadfast commitment to action.

I get it! We are all human. Having sad that we tend to have in our mind a perception of a situation. We tend to avoid the reality of that situation. Professor Richard Feynman of Princeton tells his students and the world that we have to be careful not to believe things simply because we want them to be true. Our mirror view of the business ecosystem leads us down an incomplete road of the true nature of the system constraint.

When we form cross-functional teams and enter a spirit of inquiry and engage in open dialogue we will find things we missed. It is much the same as the scenario I have shared before of walking down that nature trail on two separate days and the ecosystem is not the same. Bringing multiple eye views to a problem is likely to open new avenues regarding what is causing the system constraints. Taichi Ohno saw that in the introduction of his stand in the circle exercise.

Take the journey to continuous process improvement by opening your view to the world and let others help you see the true nature of the organization. You can’t be right 100% of the time, provide the access point other views to ensure that you take everything into account.
