What’s your brand showing the world this August?

What’s My Brand? (Besides SPF 30, Strong Opinions & Daydreams About traveling) August reflections from an executive career coach who spends a lot of time thinking about everyone else’s brand… and finally paused to think about her own.

I help people uncover their professional brand all the time. I read between the lines of résumés, LinkedIn profiles, and career stories. I spot brilliance hiding in plain sight. And I ask the hard, human questions: 👉 What do you want to be known for? 👉 What makes you memorable, trusted, magnetic?

This month, I turned the question on myself. What’s my brand?

Here’s what I’ve landed on:

My brand is…

✅ An executive coach who believes your story matters and it deserves to be told with clarity and conviction. ✅ A former Global Head of Talent Acquisition who still geeks out over ways to get work done more efficiently and consistently, succession planning, and STAR interview questions that spark reflection. ✅ A woman who wears SPF 30, an extra-large sunhat, and a little humility about the lines on her face (earned with love and experience). ✅ Someone who exercises daily to stay strong enough to pick-up others when needed. ✅ A traveler at heart — always scanning the globe for a new adventure.

Most Importantly:

✅ A truth-teller who leads with empathy.

✅ A builder — of careers, confidence, and personal reinvention.

Also... 💬 Words and human connection are my love language. 🎯 I care deeply about helping people find their purpose and their power. 🧡 I believe in showing up authentic.

I’m curious: What’s your brand? And is it showing up in the way you talk about yourself, online and in real life?

If you’re not sure, I can help. I do this every day — and I’d be honored to help you uncover the truth and brilliance of your own story.

Here’s to owning who you are, how you lead, and what makes you unforgettable. Even in August. Even in flip-flops.

Warmly,

Gwen

Sometimes the best type of coach is someone not from your industry, who can ask you the tough questions. Great post Gwen Silverstein, PHR, ICF
