Why No One Sees Your LinkedIn Posts (And How to Fix It)
December 2024, I was in Central Park, just wandering. No agenda. Just soaking it all in—the street musicians, the couples on rowboats, the dogs chasing frisbees like they had a deadline.
And then, I saw this guy.
He had a whole setup—an easel, a paint palette, and a half-finished masterpiece of the skyline. It was stunning. The colors, the strokes, the detail—it deserved a crowd. But here’s the thing: no one was stopping to look.
A few feet away, another guy was selling caricatures. His art? Let’s just say it wasn’t Van Gogh-level. But he had a line. People laughed, pointed, shared their goofy portraits with friends.
That’s when it hit me—visibility isn’t about talent alone. It’s about strategy.
And it’s the same with LinkedIn.
You post something insightful, something you spent hours thinking about. You hit publish. And then… nothing. Maybe a couple of likes from coworkers who are just being polite. But no traction. No engagement. No real visibility.
You think, Maybe I should write better posts. So you tweak your words, refine your message, make it even more valuable.
Still nothing.
And that’s because…
The #1 Mistake That’s Killing Your Reach
You’re posting like the painter instead of the caricature artist.
You’re focused on making your content good, but not on making it clickable.
And here’s the uncomfortable truth: On LinkedIn, an okay post that sparks conversation will always outperform a brilliant post that doesn’t.
Because content doesn’t go viral on its own. People make it viral.
And people engage with posts that feel like a conversation—not a one-way broadcast.
The Simple Shift That Changes Everything
Instead of just sharing polished insights, ask yourself:
✅ Does my opening line make someone stop scrolling? (Boring first lines kill posts.)
✅ Does this invite people in? (People engage when they feel included.)
✅ Does this give LinkedIn what it wants? (Posts without early engagement sink fast.)
Most people think LinkedIn rewards great content. It doesn’t. It rewards great engagement.
If your post doesn’t get likes and comments in the first hour, LinkedIn assumes it’s boring and buries it. But if it picks up traction fast, the algorithm pushes it further. More visibility, more engagement, more opportunities.
How I Turned My Posts from Invisible to Viral
A few months ago, I was stuck. My posts barely got 100 impressions. I was writing well, sharing valuable insights—but it felt like shouting into the void.
Then I flipped the script: Engagement first, value second.
I started writing with a hook. Asking questions. Making my posts feel like a conversation at a coffee shop instead of a lecture in a college hall.
And guess what? My reach exploded. Comments doubled. DMs from potential clients started rolling in.
Because when people feel like they’re part of the conversation, they stick around. And they engage.
The Bottom Line: Engage First, Educate Second
If you want more visibility, forget “perfect” content. Focus on engagement.
Try this in your next post: Start with a bold statement. Follow up with a relatable story. End with a direct question.
I’ll break this down even more in my next Newsletter. But for now—I want to hear from you.

4moI posted an insightful post today that is relevant and matches with a lot of my audience (who either have ADHD or work within ADHD/ND fields) I shared my personal story, and invited others to share theirs. Got a few likes but no one commented. I have no idea why. I recently had a post with a 15k reach that didn’t match to my audience, was self promotional and didn’t have a call to action or anything engagement related. I don’t understand the LinkedIn algorithm!
