Are you looking for the Next Level or a New Level?

The Next Level and a New Level are completely different things. The Next Level is the next step up from where you are. A whole New Level is something completely and utterly different. 

So, what is it that you need, do you think? Are you ready for the Next Level of who you are and what you do, or are you fed up with those things and do you need a New Level…something different? You being somebody different? 

When you speak to a Coach or a Mentor or a Therapist, it's very important to understand what is wrong in your life - what feels wrong and what feels right. Very often we can just burn everything to the ground if we're not feeling good; when actually, there could just be a few things that need tweaking, a few things to go to the Next Level rather than burn it down and create a New Level. 

I wish I'd understood this back in my youth. I definitely burnt down a lot of jobs, relationships and friendships. As I've got older, I start to recognise whether something might just need a tweak, and if so, what is it? 

In my experience, very rarely is the thing that I think needs tweaking, actually it! Sometimes, if I feel like my relationship is having a bit of a struggle, I look around me and think, “Oh, the relationship's struggling because I'm struggling with something else. It's me that's the problem, not the relationship”, and of course, I'm half of that relationship!

Sometimes, I've been thinking my business isn't quite right; but actually what I'm realising is maybe there's a product that's not quite right, or a type of customer, or type of client. 

So, rather than burning it all to the ground, stop, take a step back, get some perspective and reframe what's going on for you. 

Look at each element gently, carefully, and without any judgment or blame, and understand which parts need healing, which parts need shifting. And of course, some parts will need binning, and that's okay, too.
