EDGE AI BLUEPRINTS: Smarter Cities, Scalable Solutions
Livestream – April 29 | 8:00 AM PT Featuring: Brian Macias (City of San Jose), Vijay Dhingra (Itron), Chelsea Barrett (Colorado Smart Cities Alliance), Yu Kitamura (Sony)
In this special edition of EDGE AI BLUEPRINTS, we’ll showcase three real-world strategies advancing edge AI deployment in urban infrastructure. From intelligent streetlights to smart city innovation programs and new developer tools, this session highlights scalable, collaborative approaches to building smarter, more connected communities.
What You’ll Explore
1. Streetlights as Edge AI Infrastructure
Speakers: Brian Macias, City of San Jose & Vijay Dhingra, Itron
Streetlight networks span tens of thousands of assets across cities—requiring real-time monitoring and streamlined operations. As more municipalities shift to LED lighting, these networks are becoming power-ready and digitally connected, opening the door for edge AI integration.
In this session, you'll learn how existing streetlight infrastructure can support sensor-based edge AI systems—eliminating the need for costly retrofits and simplifying deployment at scale.
2. Colorado Smart Cities Alliance – C² Challenge
Speaker: Chelsea Barrett, Colorado Smart Cities Alliance
The C² Challenge reimagines government innovation and procurement by offering an open platform for businesses, startups, and researchers to propose transformative solutions. This session introduces the 2025 program, sharing how you can participate, what the process looks like, and how it’s helping both rural and urban communities vet and implement real-world solutions through a collaborative, regionally relevant approach.
3. Sony Edge AI Camera Dev Kit for the Colorado Challenge
Speaker: Yu Kitamura, Sony
Explore the latest from Sony’s edge AI vision systems, built to support a wide range of smart city applications. You’ll get an inside look at their developer kit, tailored to help innovators build and apply for the Colorado Challenge using cutting-edge AI camera tech designed for edge environments.
This session is a must-attend for anyone working on smart city infrastructure, edge AI deployment, or public sector innovation.
Livestream – May 13 | 8:00 AM PT
In this upcoming edition of EDGE AI TALKS, we’ll explore a low-power, real-time approach to indoor asset tracking—built for the demands of modern manufacturing.
The session presents an IoT-based system designed to overcome the limitations of traditional tracking methods. It compares the Raspberry Pi Pico W (Wi-Fi) and the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense (BLE) for accurate asset location and status monitoring. The findings show that combining TinyML with the Nano 33 BLE Sense delivers superior efficiency and accuracy—enabling smarter, more responsive industrial environments.
Join us to see how edge AI is powering the next wave of Industry 4.0 integration—and learn what it takes to build intelligent, connected systems that boost productivity and reduce operational overhead.

Connecting AI to the Real World
Milan, Italy | July 2–4, 2025
Join us this summer in Milan for a high-impact, forward-looking event exploring how AI is breaking free from the cloud and powering the next wave of innovation in devices, robotics, and embedded systems.
As intelligence moves to the edge—into the tools, machines, and environments that shape our daily lives—the need for efficient, adaptive, and scalable solutions has never been greater.
EDGE AI FOUNDATION MILAN 2025 is where it all comes together: the technologies, the people, and the platforms transforming AI from abstract promise to practical deployment.
What You’ll Learn
From tinyML and neuromorphic computing to generative AI, physical AI, automation, and intelligent sensing, you’ll explore technologies already reshaping industries like healthcare, manufacturing, infrastructure, retail, and consumer tech.
This event is designed for those building what’s next—whether you’re a technologist, researcher, product leader, or AI enthusiast ready to bridge the gap between digital intelligence and real-world impact.
Event Highlights
Whether you’re building, deploying, or funding the next wave of AI, Milan 2025 is your front row seat to the future.
Following two of the most dynamic and widely attended events in EDGE AI FOUNDATION history, we’re excited to open the Call for Presentations for our third livestream forum focused on Generative AI at the edge.
In 2024, we explored the shift from traditional tinyML to the new frontier: Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Physical AI at the edge. Since then, the momentum has only grown—with new research, tools, and use cases emerging across industry and academia.
Now, we invite engineers, researchers, product leaders, and edge AI practitioners to join the conversation by contributing to our upcoming livestream: “Journey to Impact: Generative AI on the Edge.”
This two-day forum will spotlight how generative models are transforming edge platforms—from hardware and software to applications, services, and tools. We’ll examine how agentic and physical systems are driving new capabilities and rethinking what’s possible at the edge.
