This document outlines two tasks for a focus on the 2012 London Olympics. Task One requires writing a short descriptive story from the perspective of an Olympic athlete competing in one of their events or attending the opening ceremony. Task Two asks students to design a new symbol for an Olympic sport by picking a sport and being creative with colors in the background of the symbol. Both tasks are due on Friday, August 10th, 2012 and focus on descriptive writing for Task One and creative symbol design for Task Two related to the 2012 London Olympics.
