MarutiSuzuki to open bookings for Ciazfrom Wednesday •Seeking to make a mark in the big car segment, the country’s largest car maker MarutiSuzuki India will open bookings of its upcoming mid-sized sedan Ciazfrom Wednesday. •Ciazwill be available in petrol and Diesel fuel options powered by a 1.4 litreand 1.3 litreengines respectively. •“The global launch of Ciazis planned during the forthcoming festival season,” the company said in a statement. •Ciaz’ main competitors will be Honda City, priced between Rs7.19 lakhand Rs11.05 lakh, and Hyundai Verna tagged between Rs7.39 lakhand Rs11.72 lakh(ex showroom Delhi). •The company claims that Ciazdiesel has a fuel efficiency of 26.21 kmplwhile petrol delivers a mileage of 20.73 kmpl. •The new model will replace the SX4 sedan, which had limited success. The grim assessment, based on the latest data collected by the UN, comes three years since famine in the Horn of Africa nation killed more than a quarter of a million people, and as heavy fighting persists in some of the hardest hit regions.
