This document is a thesis submitted by Cody Dillon Stone to the University of Texas at Austin for a Master of Science in Engineering degree. The thesis is titled "A Methodological Framework for Economic Evaluation of Existing Roadway Assets". It presents a framework for quantifying the economic value of existing roadways based on their utilization and impact on the economy. The thesis acknowledges that while economic impact analysis is commonly used for new transportation projects, there has been little research applying these techniques to existing roadway infrastructure. The document contains chapters on background information, a proposed methodological framework, formulations for capturing different types of economic impact, a case study application, and conclusions.
