The students at Lala Ji Memorial Omega International School conducted a survey that showed high amounts of waste including newspapers, notebooks, and plastics. To reduce pollution on campus, the students decided to make polybags out of recycled newspaper. This gave students a sense of accomplishment while diverting waste from the landfill. The school worked with their canteen manager to substitute 400 polythene bags with the newspaper polybags. Going forward, the document recommends following the 4 R's - reduce, reuse, recycle, recover - to promote more sustainable practices and protect the environment.
