- 3. We felt that because of lack of awareness, diseases like Dengue, Swine Flu and Conjunctivitis are spreading uncontrollably. Also we felt that due to less exposure to media and information, it’s the uneducated / less privileged people who need to be educated about the symptoms of these diseases and their remedies / precautions.The Shri Ram School, VasantVihar, New Delhi
- 4. We can make posters / flyers having information about these diseases. We will then distribute these in our localities, to our neighbours and all helpers (guards, gardners, drivers and house hold helps).The Shri Ram School, VasantVihar, New Delhi
- 5. We got divided into 6 groups of 5 children each. In our computer lab, we researched and made flyers on Dengue, Swine Flu and Conjunctivitis with support of our computer and science teachers. As we had to reach out even to non-English speaking people, we made Hindi flyers also with assistance of out computer lab staff.The Shri Ram School, VasantVihar, New Delhi
- 6. We printed these flyers and got 200 photocopies of each one. These were then distributed amongst all 120 children of class Vs. The Shri Ram School, VasantVihar, New Delhi
- 7. Children from other sections who were engaged in other drives, took some flyers with them and distributed to children of an NGO and VIDYA (school for underprivileged children) The Shri Ram School, VasantVihar, New Delhi
- 8. It was a huge learning for us while researching for flyers and posters. We ourselves understood the causes, symptoms and precautions of each disease. It was challenging for us to translate these in Hindi and to present them in the most simple and attractive manner so that everybody would read them with interest and learn from them.
