Solution Overview
 YouScript® is the first and only clinical decision support tool that enables
healthcare providers to consider cumulative multi-drug and gene interactions not
covered by e-prescribing or EHR software interaction checking.
 YouScript integration with Allscript EHRs enables providers to consider the
pharmacogenetic risk associated with a patient’s drug regimen at the point of care
and to predict and prevent adverse drug events.
• Assesses each providers’ patients to highlight those at high-risk, indicate
whether pharmacogenetic testing is suggested, and offer risk management options.
• Once tested, the patient’s Personalized Prescribing Report and genotype will
be added to the patient’s profile.
• Continues to monitor changes to the provider’s patient set, alerting the provider to
new risks, and reflecting the total interaction risk for the provider’s patient
population.

 YouScript helps reduce the practice’s overall ADE risk level and contributes to
better outcomes.
 YouScript is the first real step towards putting personalized medicine into practice.

Solution Overview
 Healthcare/Business problem addressed:
• Adverse drug events are the third leading cause of death in the U.S. and cost
the nation $289 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs.
• More than 75% of the population have genetic variations that change how
they react to the majority of commonly prescribed medicines.
• YouScript helps reduce adverse drug events by ensuring every patient receives
the right medication for their unique genotype in the context of their current
medication regimen. Ultimately, this helps physicians improve patient outcomes
and satisfaction, reduce ER visits and hospitalizations, and save time in
medication selection.
 The application developed addresses the following category:

Usability and Design
 YouScript leverages the tasking feature of Allscripts EHRs to prompt the provider to review high-
risk patients on their schedule and consider pharmacogenetic testing when appropriate.
 Once tested, YouScript adds actionable alerts to the Provider’s task list requiring them to review
and approve the patient’s personal prescribing report.
 YouScript aligns with the Allscript’s physician’s daily workflow by monitoring patient records for
medication changes and prompting the provider to take action whenever a patient is placed at
significant risk.
 YouScript’s actionable Interaction Reports allow the physician to explore implications of possible
medication changes, and identify the safest alternatives for the patient prior to prescribing.
 YouScript empowers the provider to manage their practice’s overall risk level by providing
dashboard views summarizing total population risk, and making concrete recommendations for
next steps.

• YouScript will be offered to Allscripts customers on a per user basis as an add-
on service.
• A 30-day free trial version will be available at Allscripts discretion.
• Allscripts will receive a percentage of all per user fees.
• Allscripts will receive a percentage of revenue for all tests generated through
the ordering process. This is a significant revenue opportunity.
• Initial target will be ambulatory physicians with particular emphasis on primary
care, cardiology, pain, and psychiatry.
• Targeting will expand to Hospitals and Medical Centers in stage 2.

 Description of what the demo shows
• The demo shows the integration points between Allscripts and YouScript
with a brief overview of how physicians can use YouScript to identify
harmful interactions, prevent possible adverse drug events and lower
their practice’s adverse drug event risk.
