This transcript, whether official or unofficial, has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of
the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-380). Dissemination to other
parties is prohibited except in accordance with lawful provisions or unless the student provides
written consent authorizing the release of any or all of this information.
Grade Point Averages. The semester and cumulative grade point average are determined by
dividing the quality points earned by the hours attempted. For students who attended the College
under both the quarter and semester system, all hours and quality points have been converted to
semester hours earned and semester quality points earned. A formula of one quarter hour = 2/3
semester hour was used.
Semester Calendar and Credits since July 1975. Two 16-week semesters and a 12-week
summer term comprised of sessions with various start dates and lengths of time make up the
current calendar. Fall 1967 to July 1975. Three 11-week quarters and a 6-week summer session.
Repeated Courses and Course Descriptions. When courses are repeated, the most recent
quality grade is counted in the grade point average. Course descriptions may be obtained from the
Office of Admissions and Records or the College Catalog at www.parkland.edu/academics/.
Excluded Credit. The grade for a course is excluded from the comparison of the student’s
semester and cumulative grade point average in accordance with the academic record exclusion
policy and/or the grade exclusion policy.
Course Numbering System. Courses numbered below 100 are designed for students who need
additional preparation prior to entering college-level courses. Courses numbered between 100-199
are generally first-year courses. Courses numbered between 200-299 are generally second-year
courses. Courses numbered between 100-299 are generally baccalaureate-oriented, if the middle
digit is even and career or occupational, if the middle digit is odd. Courses numbered between 300-
399 are vocational skills or continuing education courses. CPK, CNS, WAC, WBT, WCE, WED,
WJT, and WLI prefixed courses are numbered between 300-999. These are non-credit
hobby/leisure, recreational, and community education courses.
Academic Standing. A student is in good standing unless academic waiving, academic probation,
academic suspension, or academic dismissal is indicated. The academic honor of Dean’s List is
indicated for each Fall, Spring, and Summer semester during which a student earns a minimum
GPA of 3.5 in at least 12 credits hours of course numbered between 100-299.
Degrees and Certificates. Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering
Science, and Associate in Fine Arts degrees represent satisfactory completion in two-year transfer
baccalaureate curricula. The Associate in General Studies degree represents satisfactory
completion of general studies curriculum to meet individual student goals for personal improvement.
Associate in Applied Science degrees represent satisfactory completion of the two-year major
vocational/technical curricula indicated. Certificate awards represent satisfactory completion of the
indicated vocational/technical curricula for certificates.

A formula of one quarter hour = 2/3 semester hour was used. Semester Calendar and Credits since July 1975. Two 16-week semesters and a 12-week summer term comprised of sessions with various start dates and lengths of time make up the current calendar. Fall 1967 to July 1975. Three 11-week quarters and a 6-week summer session. Repeated Courses and Course Descriptions. When courses are repeated, the most recent quality grade is counted in the grade point average. Course descriptions may be obtained from the Office of Admissions and Records or the College Catalog at www.parkland.edu/academics/. Excluded Credit. The grade for a course is excluded from the comparison of the student’s semester and cumulative grade point average in accordance with the academic record exclusion policy and/or the grade exclusion policy. Courses numbered between 100-199 are generally first-year courses. Courses numbered between 200-299 are generally second-year courses. Courses numbered between 100-299 are generally baccalaureate-oriented, if the middle digit is even and career or occupational, if the middle digit is odd.
