This paper presents a hybrid method combining the artificial bee colony algorithm (ABCA) and the imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA) for effective virtual machine placement in cloud computing. The proposed approach aims to enhance resource efficiency and minimize energy consumption, outperforming traditional algorithms such as the monarch butterfly optimization and salp swarm algorithms in various performance metrics. Experimental results from the CloudSim simulation environment demonstrate improvements in CPU and RAM utilization, alongside a reduction in provider costs and client expenditures.
