   To understand our task, we first had to
    research into music videos and artists to
    identify conventions of music videos,
    moreover how the artists build their image
    and portray themselves.
   This then was further analysed into how it
    appeals to its target audience, all of which we
    took into consideration when we conducted
    our questionnaire.
   We have researched into existing artists and
    how they create synergy to promote their
    image
   For our course work we intend to create a
    website and album cover for our artist. This is
    beneficial as we are going to be able create
    our ancillary task to reflect our ideologies.
   For this we have to looked at our target
    audience for feedback regarding what they
    look for and enjoy about the representation
    of their favorite artists
   Based on teenage girls due to our research
    into representations.

   Tinashe is an unknown artist,

    we would be able to create an image for her
   where as if we were to base or coursework on
    a mainstream artist, there would be that
    comparison as we already know of the image
    they already have of themselves.

   For example lady gaga, we all associate her
    with her unique/ controversial style.
   Our initial idea was to have an urban
    theme, due to the dance beat of the song.
    This would appeal to our target audience.
   base our music video in central London to
    show the realism of the song, showing that
    we have become so materialistic and media
    orientated.
   However we then thought that this would be a
    cliché and an obvious representation. Thus
    we came up with our new idea
   We were inspired by music videos from Katy
    Perry ( Wide awake) Gwen Stafani ( whatcha
    waiting for) who’s music videos were set in a
    surreal fantasy.
   This was significant as the music videos are
    ambiguous and don’t have a direct translation
    to the lyrics.
   allows the audience to create their own
    interpretations towards our work.
   Include semiotics into our music video to help
    the representation of our theme
   We are trying to portray the media’s influence
    on our identity through the theme of Alice In
    wonderland
   The Queen of hearts character represents the
    role of the media, as she has a “branded army”
    of models in which she controls.
   Alice is the protagonist, who breaks away from
    the norms by creating her own identity. This is
    going to be conveyed by her rebelling against
    the Queen.
   We will be creating a narrative music video, to
    make sure that it wouldn’t look like a short
    movie we will be including lip syncing and
    dance scenes.
   Visually stylist -”artistic” mise-en-scene
    cutting related to rhythm of the music
   inter cutting between performance and
    images of story
   experimental use of camera/ editing
Now that we have our shot list, story
board, props and actors ready, we now have to
plan a shooting schedule and prepare for
filming.
This will take a lot of time and preparation due
to the locations we have chosen and the
amount of detail we are putting into our mise-
en-scene to make our video look as
professional as can be.
