EPP- Basic Stitches
 Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabric or other
materials using a needle to apply thread or yarn.
 Sewing is the craft of fastening or attaching objects using
stitches made with a needle and thread.
 Knitting is a method by which yarn is manipulated to
create a textile or fabric, often used in many types of
garments.
 Knot is an intentional complication in cordage which may
be useful or decorative.
 Crochet is a process of creating fabric by interlocking
loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other materials using a
crochet hook.
Basic Hand Stitches:
Back Stitch
Backstitch or back stitch and its variants stem stitch, outline stitch
and split stitch are a class of embroidery and sewing stitches in
which individual stitches are made backward to the general
direction of sewing.
Blanket Stitch
The blanket stitch is a stitch used to reinforce the edge of
thick materials. Depending on circumstances, it may also
be called a "cable stitch" or a "crochet stitch".
Chain Stitch
Chain stitch is a sewing and embroidery technique in
which a series of looped stitches form a chain-like pattern.
Cross Stitch
Cross stitches in embroidery, needlepoint, and other forms
of needlework include a number of related stitches in
which the thread is sewn in an x or + shape
French Knot
A knotted stitch is any embroidery technique in which
the yarn or thread is knotted around itself.
Herringbone Stitch
A herringbone stitch is a needlework stitch used in
embroidery, knitting and crochet. It is so named as
it resembles the bones extending from the spine of
a herring fish.
Ladder Stitch
A ladder stitch is used to complete a project that requires
an open seam for turning or stuffing. It is often used to
sew stuffed toys, pillows or lined hems.
Lazy Daisy
An embroidery stitch consisting of a long chain stitch,
usually used in making flower patterns.
Running Stitch
A simple needlework stitch consisting of a
line of small even stitches that run in and out
through the cloth without overlapping.
Satin Stitch
A simple needlework stitch consisting of a line of
small even stitches that run in and out through the
cloth without overlapping.
Stem Stitch
It is used frequently in surface embroidery, freeform
embroidery, whitework, redwork, and more. This
stitch creates a thin line and can be used to outline
embroidered shapes, to form flower and plant stems
and a variety of other applications.
Whipstitch
The whipstitch is a simple stitch used in both sewing
and crocheting. In both practices, it is usually used
to sew together two separate pieces of material with
flat edges.
