Factors influencing Tactile Graphics
• We will consider the following areas while developing the
Tactile Graphics

clutter
• Time to read - will the student get across the
information in a reasonable time?
• Supporting information – with text explanation.
• Space on the sheet – affected by finger-spacing, title,
key and the diagram.
Capability in Tactile Graphics
• Our team is capable of handling the following subjects in Tactile
images
• Geographical maps
• Biological images
• Physics images
• Chemistry equation and related images
• Maths equations and related images
• Cartoon based stories
• Others if required by the client

Decisions for producing Tactile Graphics
• Testing for :
• Websites and PDF documents
• Create accessible PDF from input; Word & InDesign
• Accessible Testing Tools:
• Firefox- Fangs, Accessibility Extension
• IE- AIS Web Accessibility Toolbar
• Web- w3.org/totalvalidator.org

Editor's Notes

  • #6: Dedicon project samples
  • #7: simplify, formalize, get rid of clutter will the student get across the information in a reasonable time? will it take a lot of extra text to explain the graphic, and would it therefore be more helpful if it was all text? can you fit the necessary tactile information into the space you have available, thinking about finger-spacing, title, key and the diagram together?
