- 2. What is Electronic test equipment? Definition-Electronic test equipment is used to create signals and capture responses from electronic devices, to prove proper operation or trace faults.

- 4. Voltmeter (Measures voltage): A voltmeter is an instrument used for measuring electrical potential difference between two points in an electric circuit. symbol:
- 5. There are two types: Analog voltmeter:Analog voltmeters move a pointer across a scale in proportion to the voltage of the circuit. Digital voltmeter: A digital voltmeter (DVM) measures an unknown input voltage by converting the voltage to a digital value and then displays the voltage in numeric form.
- 6. Ohmmeter (Measures Resistance): The meter which measures the resistance and the continuity of the electrical circuit and their components such type of meter is known as the ohmmeter. Symbol:
- 7. There are two types: Series type ohmmeter: In series type ohmmeter, the component which we want to measure can be connected with the meter in series. Shunt type ohmmeter: The connection of shunt type ohmmeter can be done whenever the calculating component is connected in parallel with the battery.
- 8. Ammeter (Measures Current): An ammeter (from Ampere Meter) is a measuring instrument used to measure the current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes (A), hence the name. Symbol:

Current levels are displayed on a dial, usually with a moving pointer or needle made of a soft iron. Digital ammeter: Digital ammeters are instruments that measure current flow in amperes and display current levels on a digital display.

Multimeter or Digital Multimeter (volt-ohm-milli ammeter): A multimeter or a multi tester, also known as a VOM (volt-ohm-milli ammeter), is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A typical multimeter can measure voltage, current, and resistance.

- 13. Two types: Bench top-Bench top are developed for bench applications and hence are kept at fixed location without much of movement. Handheld-Handheld are developed for portable applications and hence can be moved around for test and measurement purpose.
