Initial Reaction
• My intial response to this project is confidence because I have had
previous experience using photoshop in the Induction week and
video game project. I have also been practicing Photoshop quite
regularly at home. However I have no experience using Adobe
InDesign. The recording work I did for music video project will have
given me training for taking the photographs for the magazine. I
think that I may struggle know the correct fashion to write a
magazine article. I think I might conduct interview as then I
wouldn't have to write a whole article instead I will only have to
write the questions I will ask.

Mood Board
Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
• I noticed that a lot of the covers where made from repeating patterns. These repeating
patterns where mostly used to create background but where sometimes used to create
the letters. Most of the most of the magazine designs I discovered have no more than
three colours in them and these colours clearly contrast against each other. A lot images
had quite simple designs. Many of my images feature instruments.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• I learnt a lot of new techniques to do with letter design for example in the bottom
middle image letters are placed within each other. Not only does this look cool but it
also saves space on the page. A similar technique was used where I the picture was
placed inside the writing which is effective it means that there is no possiblity of the
text being the wrong colour for the image when it is the image. I will consider using the
colour scheme is create 3d letters by make a stroke using two colours two light and the
other darker. This simuluates shading without using a gradient. A tunnel shape can be
create be stacking a montage of image in a hexagon shape. I will consider using a tunnel
effect to draw atttention to certain parts of the page.

WEEK OVERALL PLAN SPECIFIC TASKS
1 Research, Initial
Response, Audience
Research
 Research allows me to look at other
magazines and write an analysis on the
purpose of their features. Then I noted the
features these magazine all share. I can the
use these features as a blueprint to what
features should be included in my
product.
 In the Initial response I will create mind
maps of three possible ideas for my
magazine and pick which concept will
influence the product. Then I will expand on
that concept and create another mind map.
I then did further research and made mood
board using existing products.
2 Production Experiments,
Proposal, Planning
 Test Photoshop and InDesign software in
production experiments. Develop new
techniques and learn basic of software to
make production easier.
3 Production  Write the interview script and article
script. Take photos of and record
interview with the musicians. Take
photos of music equipment.
4 Production  Create cover page and Create double page
spread. Export the images.
5 Evaluation  I will analyse which parts of my finished
product I can improve and which parts I feel
are success. I will evaluate what is required
to improve the product.
