- 2. Magazine 1 The Master Head stands out due to its boldness and brightness of the hot pink. Its width spreads across the whole top of the magazine, making it easy to see and enabling readers to recognise the magazine. Also, the font of the master head and the rest of the text are different, allowing the master head to stand out. The slogan – “Canadian fashion & beauty magazine” explains the content of the magazine. The gaze of Lady Gaga is toward the camera which is direct address to the reader. The central image is a mid shot of Lady Gaga, whose name is also featured on the front page in capital letters. The mid shot allows the detail of the dress to be shown. The Magazine’s Layout is quite overcrowded with text, however, it is not confusing and clear to read. The date/month/year is written in plain and is the smallest writing on the page. The colour palette used is quite bright and eye--catching. The background colour being white makes the page less distracting. The strap lines highlight what content will be featured inside the magazine.
- 3. Magazine 2 The date/month/year is written in plain and is the smallest writing on the page and is always placed next to the master head. The barcode is placed in a place less distracting from the cover lines. The master head is bold and stretched along the top of the page making it more recognisable for the readers. The font of the main cover line/master head is the same as the strap lines. The central image is a mid-long shot of Natalie Portman, whose name is also featured in bold on the page. The mid-long shot of Portman allows the detail of the outfit to be shown and reinforce the fact that it is a fashion magazine. The strap lines highlight more articles which are featured inside the magazine. The feature article cover line is the boldest writing the stands out from the rest of the cover lines. The colour palette used are neutral colours which connote a calm atmosphere to the magazine. No colours are overpowering or distracting and even the colours on the main image are the same as the background and text. Her gaze is straight at the camera, which is direct address to the audience.
- 4. Magazine 3 The master head is bold and in capital letters which makes it easy to read. It is stretched along the top of the page making it more recognisable for the readers. The font of the main cover line/master head is the same as the strap lines. The slogan “Still the world’s best movie magazine” explains the reputation of the magazine. The barcode is placed in a area less distracting from the text. The cover lines/tag lines advertise what will be featured on each page of the inside of the magazine. The colour palette used is mainly black, dark blues and white which connote the sci-fi theme of the front page. The strap lines highlight more of which will be featured inside of the magazine. The gaze of McConaughey is toward the camera, which is direct address to the audience. The central image is a close up shot of Matthew McConaughey which allows his astronaut costume to be shown. His name is also featured in blue, however isn’t bold in order to stand out.

The font of the main cover line/master head is the same as the strap lines. The cover lines/tag lines advertise what will be featured on each page of the inside of the magazine. The central image is a mid-long shot of Ashley Roberts, which allows the detail of her bikini and figure to be shown. Her name is also featured in bold and in a different than the rest of text. The strap lines highlight more of which will be featured inside of the magazine. The date/month/year is written in plain and is the smallest writing on the page. The colour palette used is mainly black, orange and silver. There are no distracting, overpowering colours. The barcode is placed in a area less distracting from the text. The gaze of Ashley Roberts is toward the camera, which is direct address to the audience.
- 6. Magazine 5 The colour palette used is mainly reds, whites and black. The red and white makes the writing stand out, however the white writing can be hard to read in certain areas. The feature article cover line is the boldest writing the stands out from the rest of the cover lines. The gaze of the model is toward the camera, which is direct address to the audience. The master head is bold and stretched along the top of the page making it easy to read. The font of the main cover line/master head is the same as the strap lines. The central image is a close up shot of one of Rick Owen’s clothing line. His name is also featured in white, however, (unlike most of the magazines) it is not like bold. The strap lines are located at the sides of the page to give more attention to the central image. The barcode is placed in a area less distracting from the text. The slogan is in white and against a white background, making it impossible to read the ending.
