History
• In 1912 the British board of film censors
  formed because they would rather have their
  own censorship than having national or local
  government do it for them). They wanted to
  uniformate film classification in reaction to
  the cinematographers Act in 1909.
What they regulate
• Films
• DVDs
• Video Games
Funding
• BBFC is a independent body and has not
  funding from the government.
• They gain their finance from the fees they
  charge for classifying films and videos
  however is run as a non profit business.

•   Human rights Act 1998
•   Coroners and Justice Act 2009
•   The Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008
•   The Protection of Children Act 1978
