Code Club is a nationwide network of free after-school coding clubs in the UK for children aged 9-11 led by volunteers. It was co-founded in 2012 to address issues identified in a 2011 report that the UK education system was failing to produce enough talent for the growing video game and visual effects industries. Code Club uses Scratch, HTML/CSS, and Python in its curriculum over four terms to teach basic programming and coding skills to children in a fun and engaging way.

- 5. Code Club was co-founded by Clare Sutcliffe and Linda Sandvik in April 2012. Volunteering for Code Club involves travelling to your local primary school or public venue once a week to run your club for an hour. Code Club projects have been written for children who are 9-11 years old based on average literacy and numeracy skills for this age group.
