This paper examines information engagement on major Chinese-language user-generated encyclopedias, Baidu Baike and Chinese Wikipedia, through the analysis of microblog posts from Sina Weibo and Twitter. The study finds that users actively participate in discussions, sharing opinions and experiences while navigating China's censorship environment. The research highlights the significance of microblog platforms in understanding public sentiment and the interplay between user-generated content and state-imposed filtering in China.
