This study analyzes news coverage from Globovisión, a Venezuelan television station, during a period of political polarization from 2013-2014. It examines 600 news stories and interviews featuring over 1,000 individuals discussing 36 topics across four critical events. The study finds that while Globovisión achieved balanced coverage overall, there was some bias detected. Opposition voices received more airtime during election and protest periods, while pro-government perspectives received slightly more coverage of international relations and shortages. Additionally, earlier news stories tended to favor the government more than later stories. However, the framing of issues was largely neutral and bias was not consistently pro-government or pro-opposition.
