Product Overview
An Integrated Internet Business Solution
To succeed in today's competitive marketplace, a business needs immediate access to information. In the current
business environment, the Internet is an ideal medium for business communication whether you need to send e-mail to
clients across the country, research the latest governmental regulations or keep tabs on your competitors. For real-time
information access, there's no better option than being an active participant on the Internet, but Internet access is only
half of the emerging business requirement. Unless your company's own home page is up on the World Wide Web,
you're missing opportunities for customers and potential customers to access your products and services via the
Internet.
Forward-looking businesses are on the Internet with their own 'company.com' addresses because they recognize that a
Web site is a low-cost, high-tech storefront, open 24 hours a day to a worldwide audience of consumers numbering in
the tens of millions. Marketing your products and services, automating customer service, gathering sales leads and
even selling products electronically are just a few of the benefits of having your own Web site. Implementing these
capabilities electronically, via the Internet, is faster and cheaper than using traditional means. And, with your own Web
server on your premises, you maintain the utmost control over your company's communications, image and critical
customer data.
The networkMCI WebMaker is an integrated hardware and software solution for establishing your business on the
Internet. It makes it easy for your company or organization to set up and control an on-site Internet presence, and it
allows your employees to start reaping the benefits of Internet e-mail and access to the Web. Designed for small to mid-
sized companies without substantial technical or Internet expertise, the networkMCI WebMaker enhances your ability to
compete in the marketplace and better serve your customers today. In addition, it positions your company to take
advantage of new Internet business opportunities in the future.
The networkMCI WebMaker is unique in that it integrates best-of-breed components with secure Internet connectivity,
comprehensive administration and ease of use throughout. It combines Windows NT*, a high-performance Intel
processor-based platform, a rich application suite including Microsoft* Internet Information Server, an integrated router,
firewall security and intuitive management services all at a very competitive price. In addition, the networkMCI
WebMaker comes with easy-to-use software wizards and tools that help you create a professional-looking Web site,
register your site with numerous Internet search engines and directory services, and create interactive applications such
as 'guest books' that can be inserted to your Web pages. Best of all, these powerful capabilities are tightly integrated
and easily accessed from a central Windows*-based Management Console.

Setting up and configuring an Internet server used to be difficult and time-consuming. With the networkMCI WebMaker,
that's no longer true. The networkMCI WebMaker helps you establish a secure Internet presence quickly and easily. It
includes all the hardware and software you need, pre-configured and ready to go. Hook up your monitor, connect your
leased data line at one end and your LAN at the other, then turn on the power. Easy-to-use wizards and a connection
setup diskette, supplied with the system by your reseller, guide you through previously complex Internet
communications line and router configurations to get you securely up on the Internet in no time.
After getting your server connected and working, the next challenge is setting up a Web site and authoring HTML
pages. The networkMCI WebMaker makes this process intuitive with its easy-to-follow wizards. As part of the
installation process, you simply select from a set of pre-designed templates for your Web site. You choose from among
several graphical themes to convey a 'look' that suits the image of your business, and customize with information
specific to your company. Once the framework is in place, the included WYSIWYG Web page editor (Microsoft
FrontPage) makes it easy to fill in your company detail.
Integrated Router and Firewall Security
The networkMCI WebMaker includes a packet-filtering router and an application proxy server to ensure secure Internet
access and strict protection of your company LAN. Integrating these components into a turnkey solution means you
don't have to buy additional external routers and firewalls costing thousands of dollars, and eliminates the need for
expensive technical specialists and time-consuming configuration. All components are pre-configured to enforce a
conservative security policy, and all changes are made through the intuitive Windows-based management consoles.
Internet Access for LAN Users
The Internet can be an extremely valuable communication medium and source of information for your business. By
getting your company or organization 'live' on the Internet, the networkMCI WebMaker provides you with the direct
access to information and communication channels that it takes to remain competitive in today's marketplace. Whether
you need to perform competitive analyses, gain critical market information or communicate with your customers
efficiently via e-mail, the networkMCI WebMaker assures you of reliable and dedicated access to the Internet. It
provides secure Internet access for TCP/IP LAN clients, including secure Web browsing, FTP file downloading from your
Web browser and Internet e-mail.
If your business or organization already uses an internal e-mail system, networkMCI WebMaker can be configured as a
link between it and the Internet (requires SMTP gateway for your e-mail system). If you don't have an e-mail system, the
mail server can be configured as a full-service SMTP/POP3 post office, supporting both secure internal LAN e-mail and
Internet e-mail.
Powerful, Intuitive Management Tools
Administration and configuration of all major components of the networkMCI WebMaker can be accessed through a
single, Windows-based Management Console that makes it easy to find the right tools for any task. All necessary
Internet server components from managing your Web site to configuring e-mail users are just a mouse click away,
giving you complete control over the entire Internet solution.
Also included is a Remote Monitor utility keeps an eye on the server from your desk while you're busy doing other
things. If anything goes wrong, it informs you with an alert. If you want to check in and see how things are going, it will
display the networkMCI WebMaker's essential vital signs, all from the convenience of your desktop. Remote monitoring
is supported on any 32-bit Windows-based TCP/IP computer on the LAN.
An Integrated Solution for Marketing Via the Internet
The networkMCI WebMaker is the most comprehensive, easy-to-use and affordable solution for connecting your
business to your customers and the Internet. There's no better way to capitalize on the huge marketing potential of
promoting your products and services on-line.
