This document provides an introduction and overview of a course on Digital Signal Processing taught by Professor S.C. Dutta Roy at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The professor introduces himself and provides an outline of the course contents, which will include a review of signals and systems, discrete time signals and systems, sampling, the discrete Fourier transform, Z-transforms, digital filter design, and implementation considerations. Examples of signals that will be discussed are also provided, such as electrocardiogram signals which are often corrupted with power line interference that digital signal processing can help remove.
