Tone of Voice
 The tone of voice usually depends on the topic of genre of the advert.
 If its an event most of the time the voice is excited and happy. It’s cheerful to
excite the potential buyer and to persuade them to buy tickets.
 If the advert is for a film or television, especially action films, the voice is low in
tone and also exciting.
Sound Effects
 Usually louder than the music but not as loud as the dialogue.
 Conventional to the genre of film/event.
 If its action, there will be explosions.
 If its horror, screaming can be expected.
 If its a theme park, there would be screaming as well.
Ambient Sounds
 For an event, there may be some people in the background talking.
 If its an outdoor product or event, there may be outdoor ambient sounds such as
animals and people, the wind.
 For a theme park, the rollercoaster noises would be ambience.
Use of Music
 Music is also genre specific.
 For an action film, the music would be suspenseful and loud.
 A romance film, the music would be soft and melodic.
 The music is used to give the listener a general feel for the film and or product.
Tracks
 Usually, an advert has at least 3 track, the dialogue, the music and the sound
effects.
 Other tracks can be added if necessary for added affects and depth.
Sound Levels
 Typically, the music builds up throughout the trailer to produce a build up in the
action and emotion, just like a television trailer would.
 The dialogue is usually the loudest track, followed by the sound effects and then
the music.
 The dialogue gives the most information, therefore it’s the most important and
the loudest.
