Task Decision
- 2. As of right now, I have decided out of all the tasks that I want to do the music video task along with the website homepage and digipak. I haven’t decided on a song yet however I know the genre that I will most likely do is rap/hip hop as this is what I listen to the most and I feel like I understand the genre a lot and I'm hoping this will show in my final product. However I may change my mind on the genre of music in the future but as of right now rap/hip hop is a suitable option for me because I understand it and I feel inspired by a lot of the artists. For example Kanye West is a big inspiration of mine and I feel that I could make a music video for one of his songs because I understand them and the genre. My plan forward is to look at existing rap/hip hop videos to look at conventions that I can then use in my own video and I also need to research existing artists to the songs I have in mind to do. I will also look at existing digipaks and websites so I have an idea on what to do for my own.

TARGET AUDIENCE If I'm going to stick to the music video task and the rap/hip hop genre of the song my target audience will most likely be from around the late teens to around thirty five years of age. I think I will most likely choose this age range because anybody younger than say sixteen, it would be a bit inappropriate for them as the typical conventions of rap videos feature explicit language and the storylines of the videos are quite dark in tone and explore themes of drugs and so on which could be inappropriate for a younger audience. And going up to the age of around thirty five years old means that I'm not excluding an older audience and I think anybody older than this may be offended by the video and they wouldn’t really understand it as I think the rap genre is more for the late teens early adult audience. However my target audience may change if I decide to change the genre of the song.
