Evaluation 6- What have you learnt about technologies in the process of constructing this product?
- 1. Technology What does it do? How was it used? Problems? Solutions? Lessons learnt? Tripod Stabilises the camera. By supporting the camera weight and maintaining the stability. We used the tripod in order to stabilise the camera. This means that our footage looks verycrispand consistentIt allowedusto filmmoving objectsmore easily. The tripod is a big piece of equipment therefore it was heavy to carry around withus during the outside scenes in the park. We all had a go to carry the tripodso itwas easerto keep travellingwithit. Therefore we couldshare the responsibilityof keepingitwith us at all times. How to assembl e the tripod. How to mount a camera onto a tripod. Camera Films the shots/ footage needed in videos. We used the camera to capture our raw footage that would make up our piece. The camera was heavy to carry around. We all rotated to take it in turns to carry equipment when we were filming outside. How to save videos on a camera. How to stop and record videos. External Microphone Enhances the sound around dialogue and us e.g. ambient sounds. We used to microphone in order to make sure the dialogue was heard and to record our voiceovers. We had to replace the batteries half way though shooting, as they ran out. We had extra batteries, which allowed us to continue to use the microphone. How to operate the microph one to get the clearest sound. How to change the batteries in the microph one. Apple Mac We used an Apple Mac to upload our filmed footage so we couldedit it and begin making our thriller. We usedan Apple Mac to editour footage taken on the camera and add effects to them.We usedthe macs to access The only problem that was faced was that sometimes the macs were unresponsive. Final cutpro We used final cut pro to edit our shots in order to collectthem together. This software ultimately made our Thriller. We used Final cut pro to edit our shots and footage to create a seamless piece that turned into our thriller opening. It allowed us to put all our shots together. One problem with using final cut pro was our lack of experience with the program and how it works. We used blogger in order to track our progress e.g. filming but also as a source of information about thriller conventions. Blogger the site has a tendency to freeze sometimes, especially on windows computers. Also, sometimes bloggerdidn’t update our bloggers. While on blogger, we saved our work every 5 minutes to ensure that no workwas lost during the freezing of our computers How to create tabs for your blog How to change the layout of a blog. How to upload media (photos and videos). Adobe After Effects Enhances colour and adds effectto photos and videos. We made sure all our clipshad a nice effecton themthat was the same. We had not used this softwarebefore. We watched YouTube tutorials on how to use the software. How to edit photos and videos using this software Prezi This website allows us to present ideas and data online in a creative way. We made prezis and put our data and ideas on them. This allowed us to have reference on our ideas through our whole production process. Sometimes our Prezis wouldn’t save the latest version if the computer shut down. We made sure to save our prezis every 10 minutes. I learned how to change the layout to create unique prezis Microsoft Word This app allows us to record and save information. We saved our workfrom Prezi on word so we had a second copy. The word app sometimes crashed on my apple mac at home. I used Microsoft word on my school computer You need to Make sure you
- 4. mostly, and made sure I saved my documents. save your docume nts every 10 minutes. PowerPoint This app allowed us again like prezi to present ideas and data in a creative way. We made PowerPoints to show our answers o our questionnaires so they are all collected together. Sometimes PowerPoint would crash and we wouldlose work. I would email myself the work so I would always have a safe copy. How to add pie charts and data onto a PowerPoint.
