This document discusses strategies for effective professional development of teachers. It outlines six categories of learning strategies: 1) aligning and implementing curriculum, 2) collaborative structures, 3) examining teaching and learning, 4) immersion experiences, 5) practicing teaching, and 6) vehicles and mechanisms. The document instructs groups of teachers to become experts in one of these strategies by reviewing summaries and examples. They will then report back on how their assigned strategy fits Michigan's professional development standards of content, context, and process. Finally, teachers will discuss a professional development audit in teams.
