                     Identifying your resources

Consider the festival you are planning to stage and answer the following questions:

Where will your festival take place? (Will events be staged at your school/college or another venue?)

Our festival will be staged at school on the CTC site. We will be using the playground, hall,
classrooms and the gym hall for the workshops and activities.

What equipment do you need? (This will depend on the type of events being staged, e.g. you may
need sound equipment if one if your events is a concert.)

The events being staged are band performances, dance workshops and dance performances, there will
also be a film room where we will be showing films. Other events include bouncy castles for the
younger children, archery, jump photography and food stalls. For the performances, we will need
sound and light equipment and for the film room, we will need to book a room where there is a
projector. Also for the jump photography, we will need a camera and for archery we will need archery
 equipment.

What materials do you need? (Are any artefacts being made specifically for the festival? What will be
needed for the production of promotional materials such as posters and leaflets?)

The artefacts that we have produced for our media work will be exhibited at the artwork exhibition
along with the GCSE artwork. We will need bouncy castles and archery equipment which we would
need to hire or rent out for the day. For the production of the promotional materials such as posters and
leaflets, we will need help from the graphics teachers to create a poster or leaflet which would
 successfully promote our festival.

Who will be contributing to the festival events? (Will you need help and support from people such as
teachers and technicians? What will your own role be?)

Our media class are organising the festival but we will need support from the teachers because we will
need staff to supervise on the day of the festival. We will also need technicians to operate some of the
equipment e.g. light and sound equipment. We will also need people who know first aid for emergency
reasons. My own role will be to manage the art exhibition and ensure the artwork is not damaged.
