1. ADITHYA HRIDHAYAM
Aditya hrudayam is a Stotra by Sage Agastya to Lord Sri
Rama at the battle field between Ravana and Rama. The
Great Cosmic Sage Agastya dictates these hymns of Sun
God to Sri Rama to ensure Victory to him. Thus forms part
Of the yuddha Kanda (Canto 107) of Ramayana by Sage
Valmiki said to be written around twenty thousand years
Ago.
Aditya hrudayam contains the innovative hymns with
Many secrets and hidden meanings. The Jnana, Jnata,
and Jneyam is completed as Sage Agastya is the Jnana
And the Lord Rama Jnata and the presiding deity Jneyam
Is Sun in the heart? Thus the Triputi is completed. Hence it
Has come to be known as Aditya hrudayam.
Further Sage Agastya has stated that success is assured
For all those who recite these Sloka thrice a day.
Rama went to exile at the behest of his father King
Dasaradha. In the forest Ravana adducted Sita the wife of
Rama who waged a righteous war against Ravana to bring
Back his wife Sita from the clutches of Rakshasa Ravana.
In this Context he fought the battle against Ravana. Sage
Agastya came there at that time to initiate this Aditya
Hrudayam to Sri Rama in the irreconceivable situation in
The battle for his victory.
It is said that Consciousness in the man and in the cosmos
Sun is the same. Absolute consciousness is being
Understood only with the help of speech. These mystic
Words are interwoven in these Slokas. The Slokas third to
Twenty four Synchronises with the twenty four letters of
Gayatri Mantra.
In Aditya hrudayam there are thirty Slokas in total. In this
The first and second Sloka depicts the arrival of sage
Agastya to Sri Rama. The third stated the greatness of the
Stotra, the fourth Sloka explained about happiness,
Liberation and knowledge. The fifth will remove the related
Sins and withhold sorrows. From Sixth to fifteenth the
Description pertains to self-effulgence and impresses that
Page 3 of 54
One pervading outside and inside is same. From Sixteenth
To twentieth Slokas are very important for mantra Japa.
Here cosmic greatness of Sun God Surya as the internal
Chaitanya in us is highlighted. Further the creator is one
And not two is impressed. The human body consists Sapta
Dhatu’s and in this dwells, only paramatma.
The Slokas from Twenty to twenty four are Mantra Slokas
Extolling Sun God. From twenty fifth to thirtieth the
Method of recital by Sri Rama and invoking God to bless
Him with the requisite strength for the victory in the battle
Field is stated.
Savita (Surya) is the God for Gayatri Mantra.

Akshaya Tritiya - Jewellers' Gimmics
Hindus believe in the theory of "muhurtha" or auspicious timings in every
step in life - be it to begin a new venture or making an important purchase.
Akshaya Tritiya is one such momentous occasion, which is considered one of the
most auspicious days of the Hindu Calendar
It is believed, any meaningful activity started on this day would be fruitful.
Once a Year Akshaya Tritiya falls on the third day of the bright half of Vaisakha
month (April-May), when the Sun and Moon are in exaltation; they are
simultaneously at their peak of brightness, which happens only once every year.
> Holy Day Akshaya Tritiya, also known as "Akha Teej", is traditionally the birthday
of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. People conduct special
Pujas on this day, bathe in holy rivers, make a charity, offer barley in a sacred
fire, and worship Lord Ganesha Devi Lakshmi
on this day.
The Golden Link
The word "Akshaya" means imperishable or eternal
that which never diminishes. Initiations made or
valuables bought on this day are considered to bring success or good fortune.
Buying gold is a popular activity on Akshaya Tritiya, as it is the ultimate symbol of
wealth and prosperity. Gold and gold jewelry bought and worn on this day
signify never diminishing good fortune. Indians celebrate weddings, begin new
business ventures, and even plan long journeys on this day.
Myths Around Akshaya Tritiya
The day also marks the beginning of the "SatyaYug" or the Golden Age -
the first of the four Yugas. In the Puranas, the holy Hindu scriptures, there is a
story that says that on this day of Akshay Tritiya, Veda Vyasa along with
Ganesha started writing the great epic Mahabharata. Ganga Devi or Mother
Ganges also descended on earth on this day.
According to another legend, during the time of the Mahabharata, when the
Pandavas were in exile, Lord Krishna, on this day, presented them an 'Akshaya
Patra,' a bowl which would never go empty and produce an unlimited supply of
food on demand.
The Krishna-Sudama Legend
Perhaps, the most famous of the Akshaya Tritiya stories is the legend of Lord
Krishna and Sudama, his poor Brahmin childhood friend. On this day, as the tale
goes, Sudama came over to Krishna's palace to request him for some financial
help. As a gift for his friend, Sudama had nothing more than a handful of beaten
rice or 'poha'. So, he was utterly ashamed to give it to Krishna, but Krishna took
the pouch of 'poha' from him and relished having it. Krishna followed the
principle of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' or 'the guest is like God' and treated Sudama like
a king. His poor friend was so overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality shown
by Krishna, that he could not ask for the financial favor and came home empty
handed. Lo and behold! When he reached his place, Sudama's old hut was
transformed into a palace! He found his family dressed in royal attire and
everything around was new and expensive. Sudama knew that it was a boon
from Krishna, who blessed him with more than the wealth he actually intended
to ask for. Therefore, Akshaya Tritiya is associated with material gains and wealth
acquisition.
Bright Births
It is also believed that people born during this time shine bright in life. Many
luminaries were born during this period: Basaveshwara born on May 4,
Ramanujacharya and Adi Shankaracharya on May 6, Swami Chinmayananda
on May 8 and Lord Buddha on May 16. Akshaya Tritiya is also celebrated as the
birthday of Lord Parasurama, one of the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu.

3. ASHTALAKSHMI TEMPLE
The Chennai Ashtalakshmi temple is situated in Besant Nagar,
on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. That stretch of beach is
known as the Elliot's beach. The temple was constructed on
the express wishes of Sri Mahaa Periyavaal of Kanchi Mutt,
Sri Chandrasekara Saraswati Swamigal.
The temple's architecture is unique, with the deities installed in
four levels.
The shrine of Mahaalakshmi & Mahaavishnu (the principal deities) is in level
two. Here one can see the imposing, bigger than life vigrahams facing the
eastern horizon overlooking the sea.
Walking up the stairs to the third tier, the path leads to the shrine of Santaana
Lakshmi (bestower of offspring) facing south. Next we get the darshan of
Vijayalakshmi (bestower of success in all ventures, vijaya - success),
on the western side on the 3rd tier. Vidyaalakshmi (associated with learning &
Wisdom) sits facing the northern side & the shrine of Gajalaskhmi (bestower
of all round prosperity) is located facing the eastern side on the 3rd tier. A
flight of few steps above leads one to the 4th tier, where the Dhanalakshmi
(Goddess of wealth) shrine is located facing eastward. Her's is the only shrine
on the 4th level.
Exiting the main shrine - the principal deities, at the ground level on the
southern flank of the gopuram is the shrine for Aadhi Lakshmi. One the
Western flank is the shrine for Dhaanya Lakshmi (Goddess of food grains).
Dhairiya Lakshmi's (the Goddess of courage & strength) shrine is situated on
the northern flank.
There is a huge hundi for Venkataachalapathi within the complex. There is a
Sannadhi for the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, to the left of which is the
Madapalli (the kitchen for preparing naivedhiyam for the Gods). There are
shrines for Tumbikai Aazhwar (Ganesha), Guruvaayurappan,
Chakrathaazhwar & Narasimhar (on either side of the same idol), Aanjaneyar
& Dhanvantri.

4.Dazzling Mystical Lights and the Astral Plane

Sometimes, during meditation, you will get very powerful and dazzling
lights, bigger than the sun. They are white
in color. In the beginning, they come and
disappear quickly. Later on, they are
steady and they become fixed for ten
to fifteen minutes according to the strength
and degree of concentration. For those who
concentrate at the Trikuti, the light appears
in the forehead; while for others who
concentrate at the Sahasra Chakra, the
light manifests itself at the top of the head.
The light is so powerful and dazzling sometimes that you have to withdraw
yourself from looking at it and break the meditation.
Some people are afraid and do not know what to do and how to proceed
further. They come to me for instructions. I tell them that this is a new
sensation, which they have not hitherto experienced. By constant practice,
the mind engaged in concentration will be used to it and the fear will vanish.
I ask them to go on with the practice. Some people concentrate at the heart,
some at Trikuti, and some at Sahasra Chakra. It is a question of personal
taste. It is easy to control the mind by concentrating at the Trikuti. If you
are used to fix at the Trikuti, stick to it always. Do not make frequent
changes. Steadiness is very necessary.
The beings and objects with whom you are in touch with during the early
period of meditation belong to the astral world. They are similar to human
beings minus a physical overcoat. They have desires, cravings, love, hatred,
etc., just as human beings have. They have a fine body. They can move
about freely. They have powers of materialization, dematerialization,
multiplying and clairvoyant vision of an inferior order. The lustrous forms are
higher Devatas and encourage you. Various Shaktis manifest themselves in
lustrous forms. Do mental puja as soon as they give you darshana. Angels
are beings of mental or higher planes. They also appear before your mind’s
eye. Sometimes, you will feel an invisible help, possibly from your Ishta
Devata when you are actually pushed from the physical body into the new
plane. That invisible power assists in your separating from the body and
going above body consciousness. You will have to mark carefully all these
operations.
Do not waste your time in looking at these visions. This is only a curiosity.
These are all encouragements to convince you of the existence of super-
physical, metaphysical realities and the solid existence of Brahman. Drive
away these pictures. Fix your mind on the Lakshya, the goal. Advance.
Proceed seriously and energetically with your meditation.
As soon as you retire for sleep, these lights manifest themselves without any
exertion on your part. Just when you are going to transcend the physical
consciousness, just when you are getting drowsy, these lights appear
without your effort. In the morning, before you get up, in the transitional
stage of half sleep, half waking, you will get again these lights by
themselves without any attempt.
Sometimes during meditation, you will see an infinite, blue sky, ethereal
space. You will see yourself in the blue space as a black dot. Sometimes
your form will appear in the center of the light. Sometimes you will notice
highly vibratory, rotating particles in the light. You will see physical forms,
human beings, children, males, females, Rishis with beards, Siddhas and
lustrous Tejomaya forms also. Visions are either subjective or objective,
your own mental reactions or of realities on finer planes of matter. Universe
consists of planes of matter of various grades of density. Rhythmical
vibrations of Tanmatras in various degrees, give rise to the formation of
various planes. Each plane has its beings and things. The visions may be of
these things or beings, or they may be purely imaginary. They may be
crystallization of your own intense thinking. You must discriminate in Yogic
practice. Reason and common sense must be used all throughout.

If you are a Dog : A very loyal and sweet person. Your loyalty can never
be doubted. You are quite honest and sincere when it comes to your attitude
towards working. You are a very simple person, indeed. Absolutely hassle free,
humble and down-to-earth!! That explains the reason why your friends cling on
to you! You have a good taste for clothes. If your wardrobe is not updated with
what is trendy, you sure are depressed. Popular and easy-going. You have a
little group of dignified friends, all of them being quality-personified. Repost This If
It's True For You. 4 years of bad luck if you do not share this post.
If you are a Mouse: Always up to some sort of a mischief! The mischievous
gleam in your eyes is what makes you so cute and attractive to everyone. You
are an extremely fun-to-be-with kind of person. No wonder people seek for your
company and look forward to include you for all get-together's. However, you
are sensitive which a drawback is. People need to select their words while
talking to you. If someone tries to fiddle around and play with words while
dealing with you, it is enough to invite your wrath. God bless the person then!

If you are a Turtle: You are near to perfect and
nice at heart. The examples of your kindness are always
circulated in groups of people. You, too, love peace.
You wouldn't like to retaliate even to a person who is in

hypocrisy and tend to shirk away from hypocrites. They can never be in your
good books, no matter what. You are very methodical and organized in your

society & Human
A) Plantain:
Plantains are mostly sterile triploid hybrids between
the species Musa
acuminata (A genome), and Musa balbisiana (B
genome). Musa species
are likely native to India and Southern Asia.
Plantain or Banana Tree symbolically represents Goddess Brahmani. In
rituals plantain is referred as Rambha.

function: to greet that the families should perpetuate many folds like
plantain without a special care and nurturing.
Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal said that he had born in a tribal group whose
generation is like that of plantain after plantain in a sequence.
The primary aim of a Hindu marriage is dharma praja (progeny, particularly
sons) and rati (pleasure). Plantain represents progeny.
The green material in Banana leaf is having Medicinal Value and good for
consumption. When hot rice etc are served on these leaves , this green
material gets mixed and adds a very excellent flavour to item. It is said that
continuous eating will remove kidney stones automatically. It is good for so
many other ailments too.
The central part of trunk is used for cooking various items. The Ripe fruit
contains lot of potassium and is a good digestive.
The Raw fruit is used to make curry and cures Kidney stones.
The Flower and the Bud are used to cook different curries.
So no part is wasted .
2. For performing "Kalasa Pooja", rice is spread on a plantain leave and the
kalasa is installed on it:
Turmeric, Betal leaves and Plantain are associated to Goddess Lakshmi.
3. Plantain curry is a must on Amavaasya days:
During annual shraddha day, annam (cooked

.
B) Plantain Medicinal Properties and Herbal Use:
Plantain is edible and medicinal, the young leaves are edible raw in salad or
cooked as a pot herb, they are very rich in vitamin B1 and riboflavin. The herb
has a long history of use as an alternative medicine dating back to ancient
times.
Being used as a panacea (medicinal for everything) in some cultures, one
American Indian name for the plant translates to "life medicine." And recent
research indicates that this name may not be far from true!
The chemical analysis of Plantgo Major reveals the remarkable glycoside
Aucubin. Acubin has been reported in the Journal Of Toxicology as a
powerful anti-toxin.
There are many more highly effective constituents in this plant including
Ascorbic-acid, Apigenin, Baicalein, Benzoic-acid, Chlorogenic-acid, Citricacid,
Ferulic-acid, Oleanolic-acid, Salicylic-acid, and Ursolic-acid.
The leaves and the seed are medicinal used as an antibacterial, antidote,
astringent, antiinflammatory, antiseptic, antitussive, cardiac, demulcent,
diuretic, expectorant, haemostatic, laxative, ophthalmic, poultice,
refrigerant, and vermifuge.
Medical evidence exists to confirm uses as an alternative medicine for
asthma, emphysema, bladder problems, bronchitis, fever, hypertension,
rheumatism and blood sugar control.
A decoction of the roots is used in the treatment of a wide range of
complaints including diarrhoea, dysentery, gastritis, peptic ulcers, irritable
bowel syndrome, haemorrhage, haemorrhoids, cystitis, bronchitis, catarrh,
sinusitis, coughs, asthma and hay fever.
It also causes a natural aversion to tobacco and is currently being used in
stop smoking preparations. Extracts of the plant have antibacterial activity, it
is a safe and effective treatment for bleeding, it quickly stops blood flow and
encourages the repair of damaged tissue.
The heated leaves are used as a wet dressing for wounds, skin
Page 19 of 54
inflammations, malignant ulcers, cuts, stings and swellings and said to
promote healing without scars. Poultice of hot leaves is bound onto cuts and
wounds to draw out thorns, splinters and inflammation.
The root is said to be used as an anti-venom for rattlesnakes bites. Plantain
seeds contain up to 30% mucilage which swells in the gut, acting as a bulk
laxative and soothing irritated membranes. The seeds are used in the
treatment of parasitic worms. A distilled water made from the plant makes an
excellent eye lotion.
Plantain is a plant which grows many folds at the root level immediately when
the main tree loses life by completing the task of giving plantain fruits,
Bananas.
Symbolically, it is kept in front of all functions to greet that the families should
perpetuate many folds like plantain without a special care and nurturing.
I am a south Indian Hindu. We use for all functions (marriages, receptions,
etc etc) Banana leaves for serving food and breakfast too.
Banana Tree - the plant is most Eco balancing one, which should be grown
more everywhere !
One more thing , there is no part in the Pant that is not used for. The leaves
are used as Meals plates, and they are cleaned with water before placing ,
and thrown away after single use. These are very good manure for
agriculture. These are very speedily Biodegradable leaves .So no danger to
Ecology.
The central part of trunk is used for cooking various items. The

I would like to say that Plantain is Called RAMBHA PHALAM.
Lord Hanuman is said to be always wandering in the plantain

Banana Tree - the plant is most Eco balancing one, which should be
grown more everywhere !
No, I am not telling you to go to any Republics. Just telling you about the
nature's Gift named "Banana". Here I am giving you the facts and
benefits one gets by using the Banana. Apart from using Banana fruits
as food item, the plant's other parts such as trunk, leaves, flower and
Raw banana are also giving innumerable values to the society. To start
with, the leaves are more broader and it grows up to 9 feet in length
and two feet wide. Because of this there is large area coverage in each
leaf, it intakes more carbon from the surrounding and exhales purified
oxygen in the surroundings. Thus the entire surrounding where the
plantain is grown becomes very a healthy area to reside in.
People in India, (specially from South India and Tamilnadu - almost all
Brahmins, and MUST FOR Srivaishnava's all functions and mainly for
Srardham known as Pithru Pooja) used to serve food on plantain
leaves. The main and interesting causes for this are really worthy. Yes,
because of single use and throw away, there is no chance for
contamination of diseases, as is in the case of dish plates which are
used again and again by different persons at any given function. Apart
from the above, the mother earth too gets her value back as manure, as
it is an easily bio-degradable one. Wherein the polythene and plastic
materials which takes anywhere up to 300 years for bio degradation.
This in itself is a most acceptable reason that the Srivaishnavites and
Brahmins in India, who use Banana leaves for serving food at any
gatherings and functions.
To increase the fiber essence in our body, I strongly recommend
to
take the trunk portion of the banana tree. This white portion
contains
more fiber essence and also increases hemoglobin level in our
blood. For any age of person, if suffering from stomach ache,
then take
one full glass of banana trunk juice with a pint of salt. Just within
half an
hour, you get the relief & remedy. (This suggestion specifically for
women, to stop stomach ache during their inconvenient menses course
periods). It is Non-poisonous, no side effects and it is a common food
item without any man made chemical combinations!
Each and every tree on the earth, when grown old, makes its trunk
portion very stronger and the more it is old, the more its trunks get
stronger & darker; the trunk portion color too becomes dark brown.
But the Banana Tree trunk portion gets whiter, the more it grows; Also,
the inner portion gets more softer and smoother than the outer side of
Page 21 of 54
the tree. Also its inner portion is pure white, wherein other trees are of
brown or black. This signifies to the human, that the more you grow,
one should get cleaner and soft in his/her life, like a Banana Tree.
The Banana Flower too is used as a food item in most part of India and
especially for Srivaishnavites, it is a must to use on all
the Dwadasi days, to include in the food! As cooking this Banana
Flower takes a laborious job to peel off the skins and then to remove
some hard portion from each particle, now a days many persons in the
urban areas don't use much for want of time. According to Padartha
Guna Chintamani, (a book on all Vegetable and its medicinal values),
banana flower is considered as a blood purifying item and also
increases hemoglobin cell levels in the blood. Thus, one gets nutritious
plus medicinal value out of every part of the Banana Tree.
Now let's see how Banana help maintain our health system:
Healthy filling and conveniently wrapped bananas are one of
nature's ideal snacks. The banana is perhaps the cheapest and
the most extensively eaten fruit. There is no doubt that the
banana is one of the fruit food plants cultivated by pre historic
man. Ancient Chinese and Vedic writing ascribe marvelous
healing properties to the vegetable as well as the fruit. Its energy
content makes it very advantageous and filling staple through
poorer in proteins as compared to cereals and pulses.
There are many varieties of bananas, each with a distinctive
flavour, colour and sizes. Colour ranges from different shades of
green, light to deep yellow, reds. The green banana is put to
mature; unripe fruit are made into curries and vegetable dishes.
Sliced raw banana (plantain) fried in oil makes very tasty wafers.
Ripe bananas contain carbohydrates in the form of sucrose,
fructose and glucose, which are readily digested.
The fruit, Banana requires a special mention. An
average banana
weighs about 150gms. It supplies more calories than
any other
fresh fruit.

# Cholesterol and fat content is minimal in banana. Cooked or
ripe bananas are very well digested and the nutrients are
absorbed well. The fruit is a fair source of B vitamins and
calcium. It contains appreciable amounts of many trace minerals
as well as fibre. Apart from this, the fruit has many important
acids, enzymes and physiologically important chemical
compounds.
# Banana is a good source of potassium, which is a vital mineral
for muscle and nerve function. Potassium also helps to regulate
blood pressure. They also contain a high level of natural sugar in
Page 23 of 54
both their fresh and dried form, which they release quickly
into
the blood stream. This explains why many athletes
especially
tennis players often eat banana before and in between
competition.
# Ripe bananas are so easy to digest and rarely cause allergic
reactions. Babies can digest them as early as the third month.
Because of all this they are a popular solid food for babies.
Mashed banana with milk and sugar can be an excellent
supplementary or weaning food for children. Gruel made of
banana flour is a commonly used infant food.
# They are also good for treating child hood stomach
upsets.
BRAT diet comprising of banana, rice, apple, and toast are
used
for children with diarrhea. Bananas contain no gluten
hence their
value in celiac disease of children and adults. They are also
a
useful food for convalescence after any severe illness.
# Ripe bananas have a mild laxative property and hence are very
useful in children's dietaries particularly as a remedy for
constipation. At the same time the fruit is helpful to combat
diarrhea and dysentery heals intestinal lesions etc. They are
also
used in the diets of children being treated for severe
malnutrition. Experiments have shown that intake of banana
helps children to retain many minerals.
# Bananas are common ingredient in many salad dishes, ice
creams and milkshakes. Ripe bananas are used to make several
confectioneries malted milk drinks and even alcoholic
beverages. But the best way to eat it is straight after peeling.
When ripe, the fruit cannot be preserved for many days as it
spoils easily. Sudden cooling also spoils the fruit and gives off
flavour.
# Diet is of utmost importance in the treatment of ulcer. The diet
should be so arranged to provide adequate nutrition to afford
Page 24 of 54
rest to disturbed organs to maintain continuous
neutralization of
the gastric acid, to inhibit the production of acid and to
reduce
mechanical and chemical irritation. The plantain or
banana has
an alkaline ash, therefore it has the ability to correct
acidosis
caused by acid forming diets. There fore they may be used
in the
treatment of peptic ulcer. Sufferings from stomach ulcer get
relief from Banana as soothing food because of its blandness.
The medicinal impact of banana and plantain on stomach ulcers
claims that bananas stimulate cell and mucus production in the
stomach lining by thicken the stomach.
# The fruits of some varieties of bananas, besides having
medicinal properties possess power to increase resistance to
diseases. Bananas are rich in phosphorous, hence its
combination with milk helps to calm down the nerves. For
young
children bananas mixed with tulsi or basil leaves activates the
brain. Banana may be prescribed for gout, a type of arthritis,
constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion, eczema, hypertension, and
even insomnia.
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose
combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and
substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for
a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number
one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also
help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and
conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND
amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after
eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of
protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax,
improve your mood and generally make you feel happier
Page 25 of 54
.
PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains
regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of
hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in
potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So
much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the
banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce
the risk of blood pressure and stroke
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were
helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast,
break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has
shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making
pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help
restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without
resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: The best & quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a
banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the
stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood
sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you
suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep
blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing
the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it
amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous
system.
Srivaishnavites used to take the banana trunk portion as food items
once in a fortnight, on the 12th day from new & full moon days
Page 26 of 54
(Dwadasi - read Ekadashi Fasting).
And now, let us see Tree facts. Anyone taken note of the
Carbon
Emission cuts? This is the natural way we can surely reduce
the Global
warming and compensate the Carbon Emissions by planting
more trees
around us.
Here are some more facts to prove why Banana Trees should be grown
more. By planting more banana trees, not only the surrounding
becomes greenery and gain more oxygen, but also more cheaper and
healthier food item is produced! This is in addition to the eco-balancing
act and rain flow.
#Trees are the largest and longest living organisms on earth.
Comparing to any other long living Tree family, Banana Tree has more
less life; however, it makes from its roots to grow more fresh trees
before it fades. Thus, a chain of growth in automatic way that grows in
its surroundings.
#To make up for the loss of trees in the past decade, we would need to
plant 130 million hectares (or 1.3 million km2), an area as large as Peru.
#Rainforests cover only 7 per cent of the land on earth but they contain
nearly half of all the trees on earth. They generate about 40 per cent of
the world’s oxygen requirements.
#In one year, an average tree inhales 10 to12
kilograms of CO2 and
exhales enough oxygen for a family of four for a whole
year.
#One hectare of trees can absorb 5 - 6 tonnes of
carbon dioxide a year
.
# Green trees & forests cover 30 per cent of the planet earth's total land
area. The total forested area in 2005 was just under 4 billion hectares,
at least one third less than before the dawn of agriculture, some 10,000
years ago. (100 hectares = 1 square kilometer).
# The ten most green & forest-rich countries, given in size-wise, which
account for two-thirds of the total forested area, are the Russian

Federation, Brazil, Canada, the United States, China, Australia,
Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia, Peru and India.

Bhagavad Gita Introduction
THE BHAGAVAD GITA
(The Sacred Song of God)
Fifth Enlarged E-book Edition
The Bhagavad-Gita is a doctrine of universal truth. Its message is sublime, and non-sectarian although it is
a part of the scriptural trinity of Sanatana or Universal Dharma---the book of universal spiritual principles---
commonly known as Vedic culture of ancient India.
The Bhagavad Gita is very easy to understand in any language for a mature mind. A repeated reading
with sincere attitude of reverence and faith will reveal all the sublime ideas contained in it. A few
abstruse statements are interspersed here and there, but they have no direct bearing on practical issues or the
central theme of Gita. The Gita deals with the most sacred metaphysical science. It imparts the knowledge of
the Self and answers two universal questions: Who am I, and how can I lead a happy and peaceful life in this
world of dualities? It is a book of yoga, the moral and spiritual growth for mankind, based on the cardinal
principles of Universal Dharma.
The Bhagavad-Gita is the essence of Vedas and a part of Mahabharata. It teaches the universal spiritual
philosophy regarding the metaphysical science of the highest Reality. The Bhagavad Gita gives a non
fear based knowledge of the higher Self. It's a book of wisdom that inspired Thoreau, Emerson, Einstein,
Gandhi and many others. The Bhagavad-Gita teaches one to equip oneself for the battle of life. A repeated
study with faith purifies our psyche and guides us to face the challenges of modern living leading to inner peace
Page 28 of 54
and happiness.
Bhagavad Gita teaches the spiritual science of Self-realization based on the essence of Upanishads and
Vedanta. The prime message of the Gita is that the ultimate purpose of life is to realize one’s essential nature
and become one with the supreme Self within. It assures spiritual progress for all humans, and how to be one
with the supreme. Its teachings are subtle, profound, universal, uplifting, and sublime. Gita explains basic
principles of the spiritual science in a very clear and inspiring manner. Inviolable relationship between the
Cosmic Reality and the individual soul is well established in the Gita. If one lives in the spirit of even a few
verses of the Gita, one’s life will be transformed into divinity.
The philosophy of action, devotion and Self-knowledge is wonderfully synthesized and harmonized in the
Bhagavad Gita---without creating any conflict among them---to give the reader eternal bliss, everlasting peace
and perennial joy in life. It awakens Cosmic Consciousness and stimulates life with spirituality in aspirant.
Spirituality deals with the knowledge of the Absolute. Religions have limitations, because they only focus
on one aspect of Truth. That is why they are always clashing with one another. They all think they are the sole
master of the Truth. Religion tends to create a wall of division and conflicts along religious lines, whereas
spirituality unites people by breaking those walls. A spiritual person is a friend of all and a foe of none,
because he considers all creatures---living or non-living---as part and parcel of the cosmic body of the
Absolute.
The message of the Bhagavad Gita came to humanity because of Arjuna’s unwillingness to do his duty
as a warrior because fighting involved destruction and killing. Nonviolence or Ahimsa is one of the most
fundamental tenets of spiritual culture. All lives, human or non-human, are sacred. This immortal discourse
between the Supreme Lord, Krishna, and His devotee-friend, Arjuna, occurs not in a temple, a secluded forest,
or on a mountain top but on a battlefield on the eve of a war and is recorded in the great epic, Mahabharata.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna advises Arjuna to get up and fight. This may create a mis-
understanding of the principles of Ahimsa if the background of the war of Mahabharata is not kept in
mind. Therefore, a brief historical description is in order.
In ancient times there was a king who had two sons, Dhritarashtra and Pandu. The former was born blind;
therefore, Pandu inherited the kingdom. Pandu had five sons. They were called the Pandavas. Dhritarashtra
had one hundred sons. They were called

Bhagavad Gita in English - Preface
Preface
The First Edition of our work was published in 1988. The Second revised and enlarged edition, with
Sanskrit verses, was published in 1996 by Motilal Banarsidass in India with a view to underline the
harmony and unity between major teachings of the great religions of the world.
All scriptures draw the water of truth from the same ocean. The teachings of Gita are non-sectarian and do not
belong to any particular creed, cult, or country. They are meant for the people of the whole world. In this edition
similar verses and teachings of major Hindu as well as non-Hindu scriptures of the world such as the Vedas,
the Upanishads, the Puranas, the Mahabharata, the Bhakti Sutras, Yoga Sutra, Brahma Sutra, Manu Smriti,
and Ramayanas, as well as the Dhammapada, the Bible, and the Koran, were added. A short commentary of
Page 29 of 54
selected verses, as well as the teachings of saints and sages, was included to aid the understanding of difficult
verses.
The Third Edition was substantially revised and improved. In this edition both Sanskrit and English
wordswere used, within parentheses, for the clarity and convenience of our readers.
In the Fourth Edition additional material and paragraph headings have been added, and the use of
Sanskrit words is kept to a minimum. The Fourth edition is suitable also for those who are not familiar with
Indian Philosophy. In the second printing of the Fourth Edition explanation of difficult to understand verses has
been appended. The Fifth Edition (pocket paperback) is a revised version of our Fourth Edition without Sanskrit
verses.
The writer wishes to offer adoration to saints and sages of all religions, and to the commentators on the Gita,
through whose grace and blessings alone I was able to write this commentary.
I also wish to acknowledge the immeasurable contributions made to my spiritual life by my gurus, under whose
guidance I had an opportunity and privilege to start the study of the Gita and Kriya-yoga. They are: Swami
Prabhupada, Swami Chinmayananda, Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Swami Arjun Puri, Paramahamsa
Hariharananda, and Swami Chidanand Sarasawati (Muniji).
I wish to express my heart-felt appreciation and acknowledgment to Sayeed Chaudhury, Dr. Ved Prakash
Vatuk, my wife Sadhana, daughter Reeta, and son Sanjay, for providing valuable suggestions, moral support,
help, and encouragement during the development and preparation of this manuscript. Raj Khanna
of Adobe Systems provided valuable help in editing PDF files. I would like to thank Avkash Chauhan and
Shyamala Raveendran for their support and timely help in cover design and website development, and to Doret
Kollerer for her meticulous editorial help.
I would also like to give special thanks to Peter Hansmann for

An amazing BUS TERMINAL in India that rivals with world class airports Fantastic,
If it can be maintained...
This looks too good to be true. I checked on Google, it appears to be real.
This could be a model for future terminals throughout India.
First take a look at typical Bus terminals in
India:
Bus terminal at Vadodara
(Formerly known as Baroda)
..... Amazing
landscape of the city, was inaugurated
on Feb 14. The bus terminal project, with an
initial estimated cost of around Rs 110 crore,
is a joint venture between
a private company
and the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation.

11. TREATMENTS FOR LOWERING FEVER
A fever is when the body's temperature rises beyond what is healthy. This can be
caused by infection or disease of certain types. Although there
are times when it's best to let the body deal with it, a fever is an
uncomfortable thing to say the least. So before you run out and get those pills,
here are some natural remedies that have been sworn to work:
1. Take 7-8 leaves of basil and 3-4 grains of black pepper and chew them
together. The two spices are very good at lowering fever.
2. Soak basil leaves in boiling water and drink 3-4 times a day, until the fever
comes down.
3. In a pot of water, mix a half spoon of cinnamon, 2 seeds of cardamom
and two spoons of ginger powder. Bring to a boil, filter and drink.
4. Make a warm bath and add a few drops of vinegar.
5. Dip a towel in hot water, squeeze and put on your head. Wet the towel from
time to time.
6. It's important to drink a lot of water during a fever, but we recommend boiling
them first to prevent further contamination.
7. Drink a glass of milk, and better if it's whipped. You can whip it so:
Take two glasses and pour milk to one, pass the milk between the glass
vertically. Do so several times until it is whipped and then drink.
8. At night, go to sleep with warm clothes and a warm blanket. During
sleep you may sweat, but don't take off the blanket. You need to let the body
sweat. You'll need to keep drinking water over the night so as not to dehydrate,
but it will help the fever come down. This works because
the sweat expunges toxins from the body, so the more you sweat, the
quicker you'll heal.
9. Mix 4-5 cups of vinegar and 2 cups of luke warm water in a bowl. Dip a
clean towel in the bowl and squeeze it. Tie the strap of cloth around
your ankle.
10. Crush two teeth of garlic and mix with 2 table spoons of olive oil.
Heat the mix and spread of both feet. Wrap with plastic wrap and stay
like this for the night. Stay with it for an hour after you feel the
fever come down.
11. Cut a potato into slices and dip each slice in vinegar for 10 minutes.
Put the slices on your forhead and put a towel on top.
12. Drink a brew of boiling water with lemon, honey and ginger, several times a
day.
13. Put half an onion on each ankle and tie with cloth.
14. Wear warm clother and bundle up well. Boil water in a bowl and soak
your feet for 20 minutes. Don't stop because you're sweating, because
it's crucial for your fever drop. Just remember to drink lots of water.
15. Mix lemon juice with olive oil and smear it on your body.
16. Dip a pair of soaks in white vinegar and put them on. Wrap the body in a
warm blanket and rest.
17. Mix half a spoon of saffron in a glass of boiling water. Let it cool
and take a spoon from the saffron mix every hour until the fever comes
down.
18. Mix water and vinegar in equal amounts. Dip a cotton ball in the mix,
squeeze and put on your forehead for several minutes.
19. Eat an orange. An orange gives you immediate energy, it makes you pee
and stregthens the immune system. The grapefruit also has anti-feverish
advantages, and so it is also recommended to mix half a cup of
grapefruit juice with water and drink.
20. Eat green vegetables to detox your body, and avoid fatty or spicy foods that
can elevate your temperature.

Page 9 of 54 Akshaya Tritiya - Jewellers' Gimmics Hindus believe in the theory of "muhurtha" or auspicious timings in every step in life - be it to begin a new venture or making an important purchase. Akshaya Tritiya is one such momentous occasion, which is considered one of the most auspicious days of the Hindu Calendar It is believed, any meaningful activity started on this day would be fruitful. Once a Year Akshaya Tritiya falls on the third day of the bright half of Vaisakha month (April-May), when the Sun and Moon are in exaltation; they are simultaneously at their peak of brightness, which happens only once every year. > Holy Day Akshaya Tritiya, also known as "Akha Teej", is traditionally the birthday of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. People conduct special Pujas on this day, bathe in holy rivers, make a charity, offer barley in a sacred fire, and worship Lord Ganesha Devi Lakshmi on this day. The Golden Link The word "Akshaya" means imperishable or eternal that which never diminishes. Initiations made or valuables bought on this day are considered to bring success or good fortune. Buying gold is a popular activity on Akshaya Tritiya, as it is the ultimate symbol of wealth and prosperity. Gold and gold jewelry bought and worn on this day signify never diminishing good fortune. Indians celebrate weddings, begin new business ventures, and even plan long journeys on this day. Myths Around Akshaya Tritiya The day also marks the beginning of the "SatyaYug" or the Golden Age - the first of the four Yugas. In the Puranas, the holy Hindu scriptures, there is a story that says that on this day of Akshay Tritiya, Veda Vyasa along with Ganesha started writing the great epic Mahabharata. Ganga Devi or Mother Ganges also descended on earth on this day. According to another legend, during the time of the Mahabharata, when the Pandavas were in exile, Lord Krishna, on this day, presented them an 'Akshaya Patra,' a bowl which would never go empty and produce an unlimited supply of food on demand. The Krishna-Sudama Legend
 • 11. Page 10 of 54 Perhaps, the most famous of the Akshaya Tritiya stories is the legend of Lord Krishna and Sudama, his poor Brahmin childhood friend. On this day, as the tale goes, Sudama came over to Krishna's palace to request him for some financial help. As a gift for his friend, Sudama had nothing more than a handful of beaten rice or 'poha'. So, he was utterly ashamed to give it to Krishna, but Krishna took the pouch of 'poha' from him and relished having it. Krishna followed the principle of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' or 'the guest is like God' and treated Sudama like a king. His poor friend was so overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality shown by Krishna, that he could not ask for the financial favor and came home empty handed. Lo and behold! When he reached his place, Sudama's old hut was transformed into a palace! He found his family dressed in royal attire and everything around was new and expensive. Sudama knew that it was a boon from Krishna, who blessed him with more than the wealth he actually intended to ask for. Therefore, Akshaya Tritiya is associated with material gains and wealth acquisition. Bright Births It is also believed that people born during this time shine bright in life. Many luminaries were born during this period: Basaveshwara born on May 4, Ramanujacharya and Adi Shankaracharya on May 6, Swami Chinmayananda on May 8 and Lord Buddha on May 16. Akshaya Tritiya is also celebrated as the birthday of Lord Parasurama, one of the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. Nandakumar" 3. ASHTALAKSHMI TEMPLE The Chennai Ashtalakshmi temple is situated in Besant Nagar, on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. That stretch of beach is known as the Elliot's beach. • 13. Page 12 of 54 Sometimes, during meditation, you will get very powerful and dazzling lights, bigger than the sun. They are white in color. In the beginning, they come and disappear quickly. Later on, they are steady and they become fixed for ten to fifteen minutes according to the strength and degree of concentration. For those who concentrate at the Trikuti, the light appears in the forehead; while for others who concentrate at the Sahasra Chakra, the light manifests itself at the top of the head. The light is so powerful and dazzling sometimes that you have to withdraw yourself from looking at it and break the meditation. Some people are afraid and do not know what to do and how to proceed further. They come to me for instructions. I tell them that this is a new sensation, which they have not hitherto experienced. By constant practice, the mind engaged in concentration will be used to it and the fear will vanish. I ask them to go on with the practice. Some people concentrate at the heart, some at Trikuti, and some at Sahasra Chakra. It is a question of personal taste. It is easy to control the mind by concentrating at the Trikuti. If you are used to fix at the Trikuti, stick to it always. Do not make frequent changes. Steadiness is very necessary. The beings and objects with whom you are in touch with during the early period of meditation belong to the astral world. They are similar to human beings minus a physical overcoat. They have desires, cravings, love, hatred, etc., just as human beings have. They have a fine body. They can move about freely. They have powers of materialization, dematerialization, multiplying and clairvoyant vision of an inferior order. The lustrous forms are higher Devatas and encourage you. Various Shaktis manifest themselves in lustrous forms. Do mental puja as soon as they give you darshana. Angels are beings of mental or higher planes. They also appear before your mind’s eye. Sometimes, you will feel an invisible help, possibly from your Ishta Devata when you are actually pushed from the physical body into the new plane. That invisible power assists in your separating from the body and going above body consciousness. You will have to mark carefully all these operations. Do not waste your time in looking at these visions. This is only a curiosity. These are all encouragements to convince you of the existence of super- physical, metaphysical realities and the solid existence of Brahman. Drive away these pictures. Fix your mind on the Lakshya, the goal. Advance. Proceed seriously and energetically with your meditation.
 • 14. Page 13 of 54 As soon as you retire for sleep, these lights manifest themselves without any exertion on your part. Just when you are going to transcend the physical consciousness, just when you are getting drowsy, these lights appear without your effort. In the morning, before you get up, in the transitional stage of half sleep, half waking, you will get again these lights by themselves without any attempt. Sometimes during meditation, you will see an infinite, blue sky, ethereal space. You will see yourself in the blue space as a black dot. Sometimes your form will appear in the center of the light. Sometimes you will notice highly vibratory, rotating particles in the light. You will see physical forms, human beings, children, males, females, Rishis with beards, Siddhas and lustrous Tejomaya forms also. Visions are either subjective or objective, your own mental reactions or of realities on finer planes of matter. Universe consists of planes of matter of various grades of density. Rhythmical vibrations of Tanmatras in various degrees, give rise to the formation of various planes. Each plane has its beings and things. The visions may be of these things or beings, or they may be purely imaginary. They may be crystallization of your own intense thinking. You must discriminate in Yogic practice. Reason and common sense must be used all throughout. 5. ASTROLOGY CHINESE Renee Toppin Look Up Your Birthday And See What You Are..... Apart from using Banana fruits as food item, the plant's other parts such as trunk, leaves, flower and Raw banana are also giving innumerable values to the society. To start with, the leaves are more broader and it grows up to 9 feet in length and two feet wide. Because of this there is large area coverage in each leaf, it intakes more carbon from the surrounding and exhales purified oxygen in the surroundings. Thus the entire surrounding where the plantain is grown becomes very a healthy area to reside in. People in India, (specially from South India and Tamilnadu - almost all Brahmins, and MUST FOR Srivaishnava's all functions and mainly for Srardham known as Pithru Pooja) used to serve food on plantain leaves. Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief. Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness. Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. This is the natural way we can surely reduce the Global warming and compensate the Carbon Emissions by planting more trees around us. Here are some more facts to prove why Banana Trees should be grown more. By planting more banana trees, not only the surrounding becomes greenery and gain more oxygen, but also more cheaper and healthier food item is produced! This is in addition to the eco-balancing act and rain flow. #Trees are the largest and longest living organisms on earth. Comparing to any other long living Tree family, Banana Tree has more less life; however, it makes from its roots to grow more fresh trees before it fades. Thus, a chain of growth in automatic way that grows in its surroundings. #To make up for the loss of trees in the past decade, we would need to plant 130 million hectares (or 1.3 million km2), an area as large as Peru. #Rainforests cover only 7 per cent of the land on earth but they contain nearly half of all the trees on earth. They generate about 40 per cent of the world’s oxygen requirements. #In one year, an average tree inhales 10 to12 kilograms of CO2 and exhales enough oxygen for a family of four for a whole year. #One hectare of trees can absorb 5 - 6 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year . # Green trees & forests cover 30 per cent of the planet earth's total land area. The total forested area in 2005 was just under 4 billion hectares, at least one third less than before the dawn of agriculture, some 10,000 years ago. (100 hectares = 1 square kilometer). # The ten most green & forest-rich countries, given in size-wise, which account for two-thirds of the total forested area, are the Russian

Its message is sublime, and non-sectarian although it is a part of the scriptural trinity of Sanatana or Universal Dharma---the book of universal spiritual principles--- commonly known as Vedic culture of ancient India. The Bhagavad Gita is very easy to understand in any language for a mature mind. A repeated reading with sincere attitude of reverence and faith will reveal all the sublime ideas contained in it. A few abstruse statements are interspersed here and there, but they have no direct bearing on practical issues or the central theme of Gita. The Gita deals with the most sacred metaphysical science. It imparts the knowledge of the Self and answers two universal questions: Who am I, and how can I lead a happy and peaceful life in this world of dualities? It is a book of yoga, the moral and spiritual growth for mankind, based on the cardinal principles of Universal Dharma. The Bhagavad-Gita is the essence of Vedas and a part of Mahabharata. It teaches the universal spiritual philosophy regarding the metaphysical science of the highest Reality. The Bhagavad Gita gives a non fear based knowledge of the higher Self. It's a book of wisdom that inspired Thoreau, Emerson, Einstein, Gandhi and many others. The Bhagavad-Gita teaches one to equip oneself for the battle of life. A repeated study with faith purifies our psyche and guides us to face the challenges of modern living leading to inner peace
 • 29. Page 28 of 54 and happiness. Bhagavad Gita teaches the spiritual science of Self-realization based on the essence of Upanishads and Vedanta. The prime message of the Gita is that the ultimate purpose of life is to realize one’s essential nature and become one with the supreme Self within. It assures spiritual progress for all humans, and how to be one with the supreme. Its teachings are subtle, profound, universal, uplifting, and sublime. Gita explains basic principles of the spiritual science in a very clear and inspiring manner. Inviolable relationship between the Cosmic Reality and the individual soul is well established in the Gita. If one lives in the spirit of even a few verses of the Gita, one’s life will be transformed into divinity. The philosophy of action, devotion and Self-knowledge is wonderfully synthesized and harmonized in the Bhagavad Gita---without creating any conflict among them---to give the reader eternal bliss, everlasting peace and perennial joy in life. It awakens Cosmic Consciousness and stimulates life with spirituality in aspirant. Spirituality deals with the knowledge of the Absolute. Religions have limitations, because they only focus on one aspect of Truth. That is why they are always clashing with one another. They all think they are the sole master of the Truth. Religion tends to create a wall of division and conflicts along religious lines, whereas spirituality unites people by breaking those walls. A spiritual person is a friend of all and a foe of none, because he considers all creatures---living or non-living---as part and parcel of the cosmic body of the Absolute. The message of the Bhagavad Gita came to humanity because of Arjuna’s unwillingness to do his duty as a warrior because fighting involved destruction and killing. Nonviolence or Ahimsa is one of the most fundamental tenets of spiritual culture. All lives, human or non-human, are sacred. This immortal discourse between the Supreme Lord, Krishna, and His devotee-friend, Arjuna, occurs not in a temple, a secluded forest, or on a mountain top but on a battlefield on the eve of a war and is recorded in the great epic, Mahabharata. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna advises Arjuna to get up and fight. This may create a mis- understanding of the principles of Ahimsa if the background of the war of Mahabharata is not kept in mind. Therefore, a brief historical description is in order. In ancient times there was a king who had two sons, Dhritarashtra and Pandu. The former was born blind; therefore, Pandu inherited the kingdom. Pandu had five sons. They were called the Pandavas. Dhritarashtra had one hundred sons. They were called Bhagavad Gita in English >> Preface Home Bhagavad Gita in English - Preface Preface The First Edition of our work was published in 1988. The Second revised and enlarged edition, with Sanskrit verses, was published in 1996 by Motilal Banarsidass in India with a view to underline the harmony and unity between major teachings of the great religions of the world. All scriptures draw the water of truth from the same ocean. The teachings of Gita are non-sectarian and do not belong to any particular creed, cult, or country. They are meant for the people of the whole world. In this edition similar verses and teachings of major Hindu as well as non-Hindu scriptures of the world such as the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Puranas, the Mahabharata, the Bhakti Sutras, Yoga Sutra, Brahma Sutra, Manu Smriti, and Ramayanas, as well as the Dhammapada, the Bible, and the Koran, were added. In the second printing of the Fourth Edition explanation of difficult to understand verses has been appended. The Fifth Edition (pocket paperback) is a revised version of our Fourth Edition without Sanskrit verses. The writer wishes to offer adoration to saints and sages of all religions, and to the commentators on the Gita, through whose grace and blessings alone I was able to write this commentary. Despite the negative tone of these prophecies, there is still one bright spot for all of us, which is mentioned at the end. TREATMENTS FOR LOWERING FEVER A fever is when the body's temperature rises beyond what is healthy. This can be caused by infection or disease of certain types. Although there are times when it's best to let the body deal with it, a fever is an uncomfortable thing to say the least. So before you run out and get those pills, here are some natural remedies that have been sworn to work: 1. Take 7-8 leaves of basil and 3-4 grains of black pepper and chew them together. The two spices are very good at lowering fever. 2. Soak basil leaves in boiling water and drink 3-4 times a day, until the fever comes down. 3. In a pot of water, mix a half spoon of cinnamon, 2 seeds of cardamom and two spoons of ginger powder. Bring to a boil, filter and drink. 4. Make a warm bath and add a few drops of vinegar.
 • 40. Page 39 of 54 5. Dip a towel in hot water, squeeze and put on your head. Wet the towel from time to time. 6. It's important to drink a lot of water during a fever, but we recommend boiling them first to prevent further contamination. 7. Drink a glass of milk, and better if it's whipped. You can whip it so: Take two glasses and pour milk to one, pass the milk between the glass vertically. Do so several times until it is whipped and then drink. 8. At night, go to sleep with warm clothes and a warm blanket. During sleep you may sweat, but don't take off the blanket. You need to let the body sweat. You'll need to keep drinking water over the night so as not to dehydrate, but it will help the fever come down. This works because the sweat expunges toxins from the body, so the more you sweat, the quicker you'll heal. 9. Mix 4-5 cups of vinegar and 2 cups of luke warm water in a bowl. Dip a clean towel in the bowl and squeeze it. Tie the strap of cloth around your ankle. 10. Crush two teeth of garlic and mix with 2 table spoons of olive oil. Heat the mix and spread of both feet. Wrap with plastic wrap and stay like this for the night. Stay with it for an hour after you feel the fever come down. 11. Cut a potato into slices and dip each slice in vinegar for 10 minutes. Put the slices on your forhead and put a towel on top. 12. Drink a brew of boiling water with lemon, honey and ginger, several times a day. 13. Put half an onion on each ankle and tie with cloth. 14. Wear warm clother and bundle up well. Boil water in a bowl and soak your feet for 20 minutes. Don't stop because you're sweating, because it's crucial for your fever drop. Just remember to drink lots of water. 15. Mix lemon juice with olive oil and smear it on your body. 16. Dip a pair of soaks in white vinegar and put them on. Wrap the body in a warm blanket and rest.
 • 41. Page 40 of 54 17. Mix half a spoon of saffron in a glass of boiling water. Let it cool and take a spoon from the saffron mix every hour until the fever comes down. 18. Mix water and vinegar in equal amounts. Dip a cotton ball in the mix, squeeze and put on your forehead for several minutes. 19. Eat an orange. An orange gives you immediate energy, it makes you pee and stregthens the immune system. The grapefruit also has anti-feverish advantages, and so it is also recommended to mix half a cup of grapefruit juice with water and drink. 20. Eat green vegetables to detox your body, and avoid fatty or spicy foods that can elevate your temperature. 12. 100 DISEASES AND ITS TREATMENT Diseases and its Treatment: -posted by rehana mohammadi 1) ASTHMA, COUGH ALLERGY: For the treatment of these diseases the Following method is adopted.
