Marina Key Club Tuesday, February 8 th
SURF CITY MARATHON Thank you to all who came out on Friday and Sunday to help…with your effort, we exceeded our goal of 60 volunteers, which made for a great marathon!
Ask your family, friends, acquaintances, neighbors, or  ANYBODY  for items Encourage your parents to ask around as well (: Dragon points will be awarded, so please label properly!
 
Gibbs Butterfly Park Event WHEN: Saturday, February 19 th , 9-11am WHERE:  16601 Graham Street (between Warner and Heil across from Meadowlark Golf Club) WHAT:  We will furnish all the tools, you just need to come and help the butterflies! We will be widening the circle around the tree by weeding and mulching, so be sure to wear appropriate clothes!
DRAGON OF THE MONTH 3 rd  place: NINA TRAN , with  10  credits! 2 nd  place: Shellin Duke , with  11  credits!
DRAGON OF THE MONTH January’s  Dragon of the Month  is… [drum roll please] ANDREW NGUYEN,  with 13 credits!!
E L E C T I O N S ! As the Key Club year comes to a close, we open up elections in search of candidates who are: MOTIVATED - DEDICATED SPIRITED - RESPONSIBLE ATTENDING EVENTS FRIENDLY  - COMMITTED PROMPT - LEADERS (p.s. it’s not too late to impress us ;D)
E L E C T I O N S ! All board members are obligated to attend board meetings  every Monday at lunch , go to  at least one Key Club event a month , turn in submissions at the end of each month, and most importantly,  work actively with other officers for the betterment of the club !
E L E C T I O N S ! Those running will be required to: - Submit an application Interview with past officers Deliver a speech at a meeting *** There will be an club election, though those results do not  determine the final decision.
President Vice President The leader of the entire club, he or she must be  responsible ,  motivated ,  dedicated , and above all else,  SPIRITED . The president oversees and coordinates club activities, manages all members, and represents the club at the divisional level. Second-in-command, he or she is the dependable president’s assistant, leading in that position if necessary.  The vice president must work with officers to actively improve and manage the club, and is also a club representative.
Secretary Treasurer He or she is a  neat ,  prompt , and  responsible  record-keeper, tracking member hours, club activities, and other vital information.   The secretary is in charge of the club’s Monthly Report Form, the all-important document sent to the divisional level. He or she is responsible for club membership dues, registering members at the international level, and organizing fundraisers. The treasurer also calculates dragon credits at the end of every month for the  dragon of the month !
Public Relations Historian He or she is in charge of the promotion and advertising of Key Club service activities and fundraisers.  The public relations writes the daily school announcements, and contacts members to inform them of upcoming events.  He or she is the official photographer of the club, which means active attendance at Key Club events is a must.  A fancy camera is  not  required, but the ability to upload the photos onto Photobucket  is !
Bulletin Editor Web Tech He or she makes the weekly agendas and/or PowerPoints for the meeting, and creates graphics when necessary. Creative and artistic talents are good for this position, as well as reliability.  Photoshop skills are a plus ;) He or she maintains and updates the club website regularly, and is well-informed of upcoming events. The web technician should be similarly artistic and creative, and also prompt and responsible.
