- 1. Configure for Gerrit In this exercise you learn how you configure your local repository for the work with Gerrit. This exercise is only necessary if you have not done it already in git exercise 1 “Installation and Configuration”. However you can run the Gerrit configuration wizard again if you want to e.g. change the target branch. Preparation You have cloned the example repository. Configure Gerrit When you use Gerrit as a server for the central repository you need some configuration settings of your local repository. ● Normally do not directly push to the branch on the remote repository but into the review queue. Before you push to Gerrit you have to configure that once for your local repository. ● You may need another URL. This is not the case in our training setup. ● You should push changes with a change-ID line in the commit message. You can configure the local repository such that EGit will always create a Change-ID. ● You may want to fetch the review notes from Gerrit (More details in another exercise). Gerrit configuration wizard Open the node “Remotes” of your repository in the Git Repositories View. Select Gerrit Configuration… on “origin”
- 2. You can keep the default values in the Wizard page: Resulting Repository Configuration You can check the result in the Configuration of the local repository.
