- 2. Step 1: Review 1 Point Perspective On your heavy paper draw one dot anywhere. This is your vanishing point. It is called 1 Point Perspective because everything connects to this point. Surrounding the dot, draw at least 7 shapes. Use a ruler to connect each edge to the vanishing point. Watch out for overlapping shapes.
- 3. Step 2: Pick a Color Scheme Pick a color scheme of analogous colors, aka colors next to each other on the color wheel. For example, blues and greens Paint each side a slightly different color than any other sides it touches. Use tints and shades, or darker hues to make it look 3D.
- 4. Step 3: Cut it out Cut out your shape very carefully with scissors when it is dry. If it tears, tape carefully from the back Next, find a piece of art boars that is a good size for your composition Do not glue your shape on yet!
- 5. Step 4: Collage With Complimentary Colors Complimentary Colors are colors that are opposite on the color wheel. Red is opposite green, orange is opposite blue, yellow is opposite purple. If you chose blues and greens, for example, you will collage your background with oranges and reds. Use scraps of paper, magazine cutouts, tissue paper, metallic paper, glitter etc to make a background. Cover the whole board. You can cut or tear paper to give texture. Try mixing paint with your Mod Podge. When your background is covered paste down your opposite colored shape. Give the whole thing a heavy coat of Mod Podge.
- 6. Step 5: Clean it up! Clean up all your supplies and materials! Everything should be washed, and put away. Check: Is your name on the back of your art? Is it on a drying rack? Did all your brushes and palletes get completely washed and put away to dry? GOOD JOB!
