- 7. Connections Lay out all pipe & fittings first Cut all pipes & hoses to length Test all connections Glue above ground to keep pipes clear Lay pipe in trench after sealing system. Install pop-up housings first Put pop-up valves into the housing last Allow at least 30 minutes for glue to set before turning on water.
