Learning Objectives: Students should be able to:
Read for ideas and understand the interpretations of the given text.
Resources: Past paper – May/June 2015
Starter Activity:
Quick review and recall of fact and opinion
write a short passage of personal writing (no more than 80-100 words) which contains at
least six facts on ‘My Family’, ‘My Pet’ and side by side share your personal opinion on the
given topics
.

Elicitation of the question types for factual passage and examiner’s instructions for Paper 2-
Reading : Passage 1
Introduction of the topic:’ Passage 1 – Gold
Circle time- teacher will read the passage and side by side explain the text .
This can take 2 lessons and will be carried forward to Tuesday 16.11.21
Students will read the passage and after each paragraph they will summarise the paragraph
by identifying the main points orally and on the sheet provided
New words will be marked and meaning written on the sheet provided
Differentiation: Teacher will provide explanation of the text and students will underline the
content points.

yesterday’s read passages. the teacher will ask the back benchers to answer in class, eliciting

Teacher will provide a word list through the help of a ppt ,students will write authentic
sentences and share ideas and scenarios where these new figurative languages will be used.
Teacher will use Pose,Pause,Pounce and Bounce technique to allow learners to write their
answers.
Descriptive writing task to be also done in class
Give learners time to do it in the copy side by side
Describe two places which you have been to with your friends, one which you all liked and
one which you all disliked. (Remember that you are describing the atmosphere and any
people as well as the places.)
