Posing characters in a story is important to convey the desired action, emotion, and motivation through their body language. Good posing clearly shows what the character is doing, how they are feeling, and why they are acting that way, through their body type, natural movements, and use of techniques like line of action, power center, and silhouette. The poses must flow smoothly from one to the next to tell the story without additional text or frames. Students are tasked with drawing character poses that effectively utilize these posing principles.
