The System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is an eco-friendly agricultural methodology developed in Madagascar aimed at increasing rice productivity while reducing reliance on external inputs. Over the years, national and regional SRI networks have formed across nearly 60 countries, fostering knowledge sharing among farmers, practitioners, and researchers through online platforms and community forums. SRI methods lead to significantly higher yields and resilience against climate challenges by optimizing resource use, thereby highlighting the potential of open-source agronomy in addressing agricultural issues.
