- 1. WATERFORD MAIN DRAINAGE SCHEME – PHASE 2 CONTRACT No 1 Contract Nr 1 comprises the main sewerage system to the north of the River Suir and the pressure mains under the river, to the proposed Bellview Treatment Works (separate contract). The works include: • Twin 800mm ND polyethylene Rising Mains under River Suir from existing Waterpark Pump Station, 340m. • Twin 450mm ND polyethylene Rising Mains under River Suir from proposed Maypark Pump Station (Pumping Station by others), 340m. • Main Collection Sewer from Christendom to the proposed Bellview Treatment Works (separate contract). 1350mm diameter sewer. • Ferrybank sewerage system, pumping station and rising main. (Pumping installation by others) • Rocklands sewerage system and rising main. (Pumping Station by others) • Beacon Quay sewerage system and rising main. (Pumping Station by others) • Slieverue rising main. (Pumping Station by others) • 3Nr railway crossings by trenchless construction techniques - 2x900mm dia. on North bank of Waterpark rising mains river crossing - 2x600mm dia. on North bank of Maypark rising mains river crossing - 1x600mm dia. on Ferrybank rising mains Consultants: Mott MacDonald Pettit Contractor: Pierse Contracting Ltd CONTRACT No 1A Contract Nr 1A comprises the Mechanical and Electrical works in the existing Waterpark and proposed Ferrybank (by others) pumping stations. The works include: Waterpark Pumping Station • Replacement of 4 of the 8 existing pumps, to allow pumping of 922litres/sec of wastewater under the River Suir to the proposed main collection sewer which will discharge to the proposed Belview Treatment Works. (Proposed collection sewer and treatment works by others) • Provision and installation of fine screens to foul and stormwater inflows to the pumping station. Total flow of 3445litres/sec. • Replacement of existing washpactor and launder system in the screen-house. Ferrybank Pumping Station • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 3 nr submersible pumps to pump 58litres/sec.
- 2. WATERFORD MAIN DRAINAGE SCHEME – PHASE 2 • Provision and installation of fine screens to foul and stormwater inflows to the pumping station. Total flow of 1673litres/sec. Consultants: EG Pettit & Company Contractor: Earthech CONTRACT No 2 Contract Nr 2 comprises the construction of an interceptor sewerage system and the construction of 4 pumping stations on the southern bank of the River Suir, from Glenville to Blenheim. The works include: • Maypark Wet-well/Dry-well Pumping Station civil works. Pumping installation, by others, to transfer wastewater under River Suir to collector sewer on north side of river. • Gravity sewers draining to Maypark Pump Station, Freshfields to Powerscourt. • Glenville sewerage system, submersible pumping station and rising main. (Pumping installation by others) • Freshfields sewerage system, submersible pumping station and rising main. (Pumping installation by others) • Island View sewerage system (from Volan to Blenheim), wet-well/dry-well pumping station and rising main. (Pumping installation by others) • Construction of approximately 3,910m of gravity sewers with diameters ranging from 225mm to 900mm. Construction of approximately 390m of 100mm diameter rising mains and 1,400m of 300mm diameter rising mains. • Decommissioning and demolition of existing septic tanks Consultants: J.B. Barry & Partners Ltd. / White Young Green CONTRACT NR 2A Contract Nr 2A comprises the Mechanical and Electrical works in the proposed Maypark, Island View, Freshfields and Glenville pumping stations on the north side of the River Suir. Civil works by others. The works include: Maypark Pumping Station – Wet Well / Dry Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 3 nr submersible pumps to pump 364litres/sec. • Provision and installation of ventilation, gas detection, odour control systems; mobile electrical generator; lifting and craneage equipment. Island View Pumping Station – Wet Well / Dry Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 3 nr submersible pumps to pump 232litres/sec.
- 3. WATERFORD MAIN DRAINAGE SCHEME – PHASE 2 • Provision and installation of ventilation, gas detection, odour control systems; mobile electrical generator; lifting and craneage equipment. Glenville Pumping Station – Submersible Wet Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 2 nr submersible pumps to pump 5litres/sec. • Provision and installation of ancillary equipment. Freshfields Pumping Station – Submersible Wet Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 2 nr submersible pumps to pump 16litres/sec. • Provision and installation of ancillary equipment. Consultants: J.B. Barry & Partners Ltd. / White Young Green CONTRACT NR 3 Contract Nr 3 comprises the construction of 3 pumping stations on the north side of the River Suir to discharge into the proposed collector sewer draining to the new Bellview Treatment Works (separate contracts). The mechanical and electrical installations at the pumping stations will be under a separate contract. The works include: • Rocklands Pumping Station and associated site works. • Slieverue Pumping Station and associated site works. • Beacon Quay Pumping Station and associated site works. • Decommissioning and demolition of existing Rocklands comminutor station. • Decommissioning and demolition of existing septic tank at Slieverue. Consultants: EG Pettit & Company CONTRACT NR 3A Contract Nr 3A comprises the Mechanical and Electrical works in the proposed Rocklands, Slieverue and Beacon Quay pumping stations on the north side of the River Suir. Civil works by others. The works include: Rocklands Pumping Station – Submersible Wet Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 3 nr submersible pumps to pump 205litres/sec. • Provision and installation of ancillary equipment. Beacon Quay Pumping Station – Submersible Wet Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 2 nr submersible pumps to pump 9litres/sec.

Slieverue Pumping Station – Submersible Wet Well configuration • Full M&E installation to the proposed pumping station. (Pumping Station civil works by others) • Provision and installation of 2 nr submersible pumps to pump 9litres/sec. • Provision and installation of ancillary equipment. Consultants: EG Pettit & Company CONTRACT NR 4 Contract Nr 4 comprises the Belview sewerage system to the north of the River Suir, to the proposed Bellview Treatment Works (separate contract). The works include: • The construction of approximately 4,075m of 225mm diameter gravity sewers draining the areas of Drumdowney, Belview and Gorteens to pumping stations and the treatment works. • The construction of 3 nr pumping stations and the associated M&E installations. • The construction of approximately 1,475m of 125mm diameter rising mains. Consultants: EG Pettit & Company CONTRACT NR 5 Contract Nr 5 comprises the design, construction and operation of the proposed Bellview Treatment Works. The works include: • The design and construction of approved wastewater treatment facilities to cater for 190,600 population equivalent 27,465 m3 /day dry weather flow • Wastewater treatment processes : - grit and screenings removal and disposal - primary sedimentation - activated sludge secondary treatment - stormwater storage and treatment - final settlement tanks - sludge treatment, storage and reuse disposal - all mechanical and electrical installations - telemetry system • The civil works: - access and site roads - process unit structures - administration building - other site works. - treated effluent outfall to River Suir • The operation and maintenance of the treatment works for a period of 20 years.
