PARTS OF MALE/FEMALE
REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
• DRAW AND LABEL THE PARTS OF
REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM OF MALE
AND FEMALE
OVERVIEW
• Every human being possess a
reproductive system. The
reproductive system helps
him/her to reproduce another
human being. We are product
of reproduction.
REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
• The reproductive system is
a system of sex organs within
an organism which work
together for the purpose of
sexual reproduction.
MALE REPRODUCTIVE
ORGAN
MAJOR PARTS OF MALE
REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN
• TESTES
• SCROTUM
• PENIS
• URETHRA
• EPIDIDYMIS
• VAS DEFERENCE
• PROSTATE GLAND
• COWPER’S GLAND
• SEMINAL VESICLE

Testis
• (testes in plural)
• typically paired,
the testis
consists of many
highly coiled
tubes or ducts
surrounded by
several layers of
connective
• produces sperm
cells and secretes
the male sex
hormones
Scrotal sac or scrotum
•external
saclike
structure
with
temperature
slightly
lower than

testis/testes
Penis
• composed the
spongy
erectile
tissues; its
head is
covered by a
foreskin,
which can be
•deposits
sperm into
Urethra
•a duct
that runs
through
the length
of the
penis and
• serves as the
passageway for
both sperm and
urine; has an
opening that
Epididymis
• long, narrow,
flattened,
highly coiled
cumulated
ducts lying on
the edge of
the posterior
border of the
• stores mature
sperm and is site
where the sperm
cells gain the
ability to move
Vas deference
(sperm duct)
• a short
muscular duct
• Passageway
of fluid that
neutralize to
the urethra;
Prostate gland
•Thumb-
sized, it
consists of
muscular
and
glandular
tissues that
• Secretes a fluid
that neutralizes
the acidity of the
vagina to ensure
the survival of the
Cowper’s gland
•A pair of
pea-sized
gland along
the urethra
and below
the prostate
gland
• Secrete a
fluid that may
serve as
lubricant and
Seminal vesicle
•A pair of
glands
found
between the
bladder and
the rectum
• Secrete a
fluid that
contains
fructose
How Does the Male Reproductive
System Function?
• The entire male reproductive system is
dependent on hormones, which are
chemicals that regulate the activity of
many different types of cells or organs.
The primary hormones involved in the
male reproductive system are follicle-
stimulating hormone, luteinizing
hormone, androgen and testosterone.
Follicle-stimulating hormone
• is necessary for sperm production
(spermatogenesis)
Luteinizing hormone
• stimulates the production of
testosterone, which is also
needed to make sperm.
Testosterone
• is responsible for the development of
male characteristics, including
muscle mass and strength, fat
distribution, bone mass,
facial hair growth, voice change,
and sex drive.
Androgens
• are produced by the body in
greater amounts in males.

MAJOR PARTS OF FEMALE
REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN
• Ovaries
• Fallopian Tubes
• Uterus (womb)
• Cervix
• Vagina (birth canal)
• Vulva
-mons veneris -labia minora
-labia majora -clitoris
-vaginal orifice

ovaries
• small, flattened ,
elongated organs
on both sides of
the uterus
• alternately produce the
female sex cells (egg or ova)
and secretes the female
hormones (estrogen and
progesterone)
Fallopian tubes
• a pair of ducts
leading from the
ovaries to the
uterus
• Pathway where the ova
travels from the ovary
to the uterus
uterus
• Hollow, muscular,
pear –shaped
organ located
between the two
ovaries
• It is where fertilized
egg will develop and
grow into baby.
cervix
• Neck of the uterus
that opens to the
vagina
•Passage way for
menstrual flow; passage
way for sperm
vagina
• A thin-walled
passageway
through which
sperm can enter
and swim to the
fallopian tube
•Passageway for
menstrual flow and baby
to the outside
vulva
• The external
genitalia
Mons veneris
• The hairy skin-
covered pad of fat
over the pubic
bone
Labia minora
• the small lips
covered with
modified skin
Labia majora
• the large lips
covered with
pubic hair
clitoris
• The small
almond-shaped
erectile tissue
located below
junction of two
minor
Vagina orifice
• The opening into
the vagina
1.-HUMAN-REPRODUCTIVE-ORGAN AND ITS FUNCTIONS
• There are four major hormones
(chemicals that stimulate or regulate the
activity of cells or organs) involved in the
menstrual cycle: follicle-stimulating
hormone, luteinizing hormone, estrogen,
and progesterone.
• Progesterone helps to maintain
pregnancies and implant an egg in
the uterus.
• Estrogen makes the bones smaller
and shorter, the pelvis broader, and
the shoulders narrower.
