Read the passage below.

MY LIFE: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

People often like to write about their lives and their thoughts. They do this in a
diary. These diaries are usually private. Sometimes they have a lock and a key. They
´re “top secret”.
Blogs are a kind of diary, too. People write about their lives on a website. They add
photos, too. Other people can add their comments and questions. So, blogs are
personal and public. You can make a lot of friends – and enemies – through a blog!

A) Now choose the best option to finish these sentences:
Ex. People write about their .....a......
    a) lives and thoughts / b) feelings and emotions / c) actions and thoughts

1- Diaries are almost never ...........................
     a) personal / b) private / c) public
2- A blog is similar to a diary, but on ...................
     a) the net / b) T.V. / c) the radio

     a) questions and photos / b) photos and comments / c) all three
4- Blogs are good for ....................
    a) meeting enemies / b) meeting friends / c) meeting celebrities

2. Read this information

Time for a change!
It´s fun to look different. It´s exciting to do different things. It´s cool to be ...cool!
We change all the time.
   Changing bodies
Some people like to change their physical appearance. Sometimes this decoration is
traditional.
Very often, people change the shape or colour of their hair. They want to look
different, or fashionable.
Some changes are more extreme! Are these always beautiful? Tatoos, body
piercing..Some actors and models have “new” noses. Why do people do this sort of
thing to their bodies? Is it fashion? Or is it vanity?

A) Now, finish these sentences with one or two words.

Ex. Body decoration is not always ....traditional...

1- For some people change is fun, cool and ..........................
2- People enjoy doing changes .................................
3- Tatoos and body piercing are examples of extreme ............................
4- Children, adults and teenagers experiment changes all over ...............................

B) Read the text again and find the opposites of these words.
 Ex. Same - ...different...
1- dislike - ..................
2- hardly ever - ....................
3- ugly - ..................
4- old - ..................
5- young - ................

(Another option for reading activities, for you to choose)

   1. Different teenagers give their opinions about uniforms. Complete what they
      say inserting the missing sentence ( a – b – c – d – e)

Ex. “Rich kids and poor kids look the same. ....b.... . Nobody notices the difference.”

“ I don´t have to think in the morning. .............. . It makes life easy!
“ I like my school. All my friends go there. ................. . We feel good in it.”

“Clothes are personal. ................... . I don´t want to look like all the other people in
my school! No way!”

“ Uniform? .................. ! I want to look like ME!”

a- No, thanks. b- Well, almost the same.

c- So, the uniform is part of our group. d- I put on the same clothes everyday.

d- We express our personality through our clothes.

2.Now read the texts again and find the opposite of these words:
Ex. different - ...same...

1- difficult - ................
2- like - .................
3- here - .................
4- good - ................
5- your - .................
