Initial Reaction
My initial reaction to the brief as really good and
I am very excited to create this as I have got a
few ideas I think would be good. I like the
thought of creating my own magazine and love
that I can only use photos that hi have taken –
this means i get to look back through all my
images and find the best ones to best fit my
idea.

Mind maps
Skate magazine
Colors- lots of vibrant colors to fit the street arty kind of
vibe with lots of sharp images of skaters and things.
Fonts- this will appeal to 13-19 year old’s o it would have to
be an al round font, maybe a quite roundish formal one.
Images/text- I would style this so there was more picture
then text on a page, so the text. Would be undersized but
still readable and the images would be very active stills.
Layout- I would make sure the layout is fun an the pictures
are eye catching.
Nightlife magazine
Colors- dark blues and vibrant yellows and things to match a
club scene, text is black or white.
Fonts- will be smart and professional with black or white
coloring and a standard size
Images/text- I would style it so it looks very professional and
is easy to read without getting lost, maybe some big pictures
of my photos to show case.
Layout- I would probably take some layout ideas from my
research like the double page been one big picture, I do like
that idea and it looks really well.
Portrait photography magazine
Colors- this would depend on the images but a white
back with black text.
Fonts- I would stick with a simple one that looks high
quality and professional.
Images/text- I would have a few examples of portrait
work on the page with text underneath each one about
what the photo tells us and how it was taken.
Layout- would be very professional and simple.

Mind Map
Night life magazine
Fonts- professional and sharp so quite standard, it will either be white or black depending on
where it is.
Colors- lots of blues and oranges to give off the fun warm club vibe
To go with the atmosphere of a club and the lights on the dance floor
Images/text- one large fire act photo on the front cover to show the fun environment,
Then on a double page spread an article about the club environment and what to look
for to get good photos and lots of pictures to use as examples.
I will have a single page about camera settings also and what equipment I use as
Brk photography. All fonts will be the same and black.
Layout- the double page spread will have one big photo on the left then
Multiple images on the right with text. The single page will be mostly text with some
images of gear I use. The front cover will be one main subject photograph with a bold
White title and some other texts/bullet points.

Mood Board Analysis
In my images there is a lot of promo styled images, also there's
lots of blues and oranges within the all the photos, I like the
oranges as it makes the skin tones look really well and gives off a
fun nice vibe, especially when there's lots of smiles and posing
within the photos. I like how there is a lot of in the moment
photos and the group shots show everyone is having fun.
My mood boards will help my final product by showing me what
type of images I will use, and also what kind of colours I will use
to create and exciting look to my magazine.
