Block 1 – Introduction Anymeta principles Metadata Metadata: “Data providing information about one or more other pieces of data” Because users and editors add metadata to their contributions, the system ‘understands' their relation to other things. All contributions will therefore appear in the right place and with relevant context. This saves editors a lot of time. This automated linking in Anymeta is called matching. 10

Editors don&#x2019;t have to worry about the size of headers or the color of the introduction text. All they have to do is write good text and give good metadata.
