• Few years ago, only few hospitals and country “branding’ themselves 
• Today, global industry estimated around $100bn 
• Despite the size and growth of the medical tourism industry and 
increasing number of hospitals and places promoting/branding as a 
medical tourism destination…. 
• …lack of data, unavailability of valid and reliable measurement
