KUDOS FOR NCSEA’S 2014 REGULATORY WORK
“On behalf of the whole team here at HelioSage, I just wanted to send you a quick note of our collective thanks for providing the letters of support referenced below. On a broader note, NCSEA continues to prove itself to be the most impressive, engaged, and proactive regional trade associations we have been engaged with anywhere in the country (20+ markets), and we greatly appreciate all the help you and your team have provided us over these past few years.”
- Chris Quarterman, Director of Strategic Planning, HelioSage, Sept. 24, 2014 (on NCSEA’s support for transfer of HelioSage’s solar CPCN to Duke Progress)
“As I sat through much of the hearings it was clear that we have real pros representing our interests. It made me proud to see how far our industry has come.”
- John Morrison, COO, Strata Solar, July 11, 2014 (on completion of the 4-day hearing for phase 1 of the 2014 avoided cost proceeding)
“I’m so glad to know that NCSEA is seeking to comment in support of our motion. Thank you. Your comments seem to incorporate relevant evidence that the Commission has previously received, and I think that having NCSEA highlight that testimony will be helpful to our arguments. . . . I just wanted to say thank you!”
- Erin Wynia, Legislative & Regulatory Issues Manager, North Carolina League of Municipalities, Feb. 11, 2014 (on NCSEA’s support for NCLM’s LED lighting motion)
“In one hopeful development, I saw that Commission staff, while not endorsing value of solar analysis in the current proceeding, does recommend a separate proceeding to address the issues in more detail. NCSEA’s brief, written by outstanding attorney Michael Youth, lays out our positions very well.”
- Karl Rabago, Pace Energy and Finance Center, Feb. 1, 2014 (on issuance of the 2012 avoided cost order directing that the value of solar be explored further in the 2014 proceeding)
“We applaud your efforts in support of Advanced Energy's proposal to the North Carolina Utilities Commission that will make roof top solar available to those developing work-force and affordable housing in the state. This will enable us to serve even more low-income families who would not have the opportunity to benefit from this wonderful technology.”
- Frank Spencer, Habitat Charlotte, Jan. 23, 2014 (on NCSEA’s filing a letter at Commission supporting Advanced Energy’s low-income rooftop solar program proposal)
“Thanks for the role that you and the NCSEA played in this.”
-Ken Szymanski, Executive Director, Apartment Association of NC, Nov. 30, 2014 (on Commission approval of Duke Carolinas and Duke Progress EE programs for apartments)
