- 11. Sr. Gryphs Basketball News Results from Wetaskiwin Girls came in 7th Boys come in 8th Home tournament this Friday and Saturday. Opening games at 12:30 on Friday. Girls in West Gym and boys in East gym.

- 14. • It is never to soon to start planning for the summer • RDC’s School of Continuing Education has released its Summer Arts School calendar. • July 4 – 29 at Red Deer College • See Ms Wegner if you are interested in attending any of the courses.
- 15. Work Experience/RAP • A number of first semester students (you know who you are) did not hand in paperwork. Failure to get this paperwork into Ms Wegner could jeopardize graduation plans. • Second semester students, please get your job description and contract from your employer ASAP. You are not officially in work experience until those documents are returned and signed by Ms Wegner
- 16. • Ms Wegner has a 25 page document detailing a variety of scholarships for which students in the province of Alberta can apply. • See her if you are interested in this document. She can share it with you. • Work is underway to make it available on the school website as a shared link.
- 17. Concordia is a small, well respected university located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan river in the heart of Edmonton. The undergraduate and niche graduate programs offer students the opportunity to acquire the skills they will need to be successful both in their careers and their personal life. - 18. Concordia is seeking qualified candidates for its President’s Leadership Scholarship competition. This full tuition scholarship is designed for high school applicants who demonstrate academic excellence as well as leadership in their communities.
- 19. Interested students can obtain the information and application form from Concordia’s website at financialaid.concordia.ab.ca/scholarships under high school students. Applications with supporting documents must be submitted to Concordia’s Financial Aid and Awards office by April 1st. Successful recipient(s) are notified by May 1st.

Scholarships & Awards Application: • Over 70 scholarships and bursaries • 1/3 students receive an award • Award values range from $500-$4,000 • Average amount received is $1,800 • Deadline to Apply: March 31 Note: Applicants must have initial admission to King's by March 31 to be eligible to receive awards

Automatic Admission Scholarships King's also offers automatic scholarships that require no application! $2,000 Academic Excellence Scholarship Applicants with an admission average of 90-100%. $1,000 Honours Scholarship Applicants with an admission average of 80-89%. $1,500 Transfer Scholarship Transfer students with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and completed at least 24 credits. $2,400 Computing Science Scholarship Computing Science applicants with an admission average of 75% or higher.

- 23. Info Session Weeks From March 14 to 19 prospective students can attend any one of our free information sessions. Full details on information sessions on offer during Info Session Week and throughout the year are available at MacEwan.ca/InfoSessions. Programs eligible for early admission are identified on the website and will also be identified at their sessions. Prospective students are encouraged to submit their application to be assessed for early admission during Info Session Week if they have not done so already.

Updating New Grades • Students that have not yet received an admission offer are now able to update their new high school courses and marks from their first semester online! • Students will update their new grades by simply going to the UAlberta application start page at uab.ca/apply and clicking on the “Update Courses” button. • Students that have not yet received an offer will be able to update the following marks in their application: Final marks for completed first-semester courses (mark should reflect the final blended grade if a provincial exam was written) Mid-term marks for full-year courses (must reflect at least 50% of course content) Drop previously listed courses if a student has withdrawn from them • Students are required to submit updates by April 15, 2016. • Please note that students that are required to submit new grades have been contacted via email on Tuesday, February 9th.
- 25. Application Deadline: March 1st • March 1, 2016 is the deadline to apply for direct-entry undergraduate programs for Fall 2016 admission. Reg 101 Workshops • Registration 101 Workshops are in March/April 2016! • Students will have an opportunity to learn how to navigate the Bear Tracks system for the purpose of course registration, build a first-year schedule, and ask UAlberta staff questions.
- 26. 2016 Online Chat Dates • high school students can log on and ask any questions they may have about the University of Alberta. 2016 upcoming dates are • March 2 • April 6 • May 4 • June 1 • All of the sessions will be held from 7 to 9pm MST.
- 27. Program Change Process • Applicants are able to change the program choices on their application, even after they have submitted it. Students wishing to change their program choices are required to fill out the Admission Application Program Change Form, then return it to them via the online contact form or by dropping it off at Student Connect. • If a student submits their program change request after the application deadline has passed (March 1st), they can only switch the priority of their two program choices; they cannot add a new program choice. • Please note that only one program change request per application is accepted. • See Ms Wegner if you are having difficulty doing this
