This document discusses integrating new mobility services like ridesharing into transportation journey planning. It begins by introducing Nadia, a commuter who uses a trip planner. The planner now includes options like ridesharing and proactively alerts Nadia when her usual public transit line is down. It then examines challenges of integrating different transportation operators and authorities, and standards for exchanging schedule and real-time data like GTFS. Currently most journey planners include ridesharing and taxis but not all update schedules real-time. Two-way data exchange between operators could reduce costs, improve incident response and provide a more attractive integrated service for commuters.
