21 Words Many Filipinos are Using Wrong

Filipinos are a bunch of creative, talented, and resourceful people; it shows with our world-class artists and craftsmen. However, a huge number of us are guilty of referring to different things with famous brands. How many times have you heard your mother tell you to “go buy Colgate, yung Close-Up” (go buy Colgate, the Close-Up brand)? I’m sure we have all experienced this face-palm worthy moments. We may even be guilty of making these labeling mistakes. So to help stop this confusion, here are brand names Pinoys (Slang for Filipinos) commonly use in lieu of the actual object:
